i'm new to DVD's and just was woondering why are they so hard to take out the case? I don't want to damage the DVD.

Because the DVD people are out to get you.

you act like you are, i just asked a simple question because i had a hard time getting the DVD out the case. So i'm not looking to argue with no one i don't know-i'm not in the mood for no silly ass remarks.

I'm pretty sure DVDs are hard to take out of the case ebcause they want it to stay in and not bounce around like the cheap-o Hollywood Video DVD cases they use...CDs have to be handled as carefully as possible, because it is easy to get them scratched.

I always wondered that myself. Thats why i hate buying DVDs.

I guess that's the major disadvantage of DVD's. You have to be actual careful. You don't have to be that way with VHS tapes. I had the hardest time getting the DVD out-i was like damm-i don't want to damage something i just paid for

I've noticed that too! Argh. Oh well...its just one of those things we have to learn to live with I guess.

CDs are no cakewalk either. I like it when the CD store person opens them for me before I leave the store.:) You need tools and great eyesight to open those things.

i know this one...because people often steal the DVD's themselves out of the cases in stores...It happens more than you would think. So it's just another security feature, most liekly

Cds and DVDs plastic wrap- I recommend poster tacs. They are small. Just get the tac and slice a slit into the wrap.

The white sticky stuff on top so nobody steals the discs- That stuff is a pain in the ass!!!!

Actual disc- really depends on how the holder is made. Sometimes I have no difficulties with getting the disc out. It's just the ones that have push on that black part that annoys me. I'm pushing and pushing, got my finger nail pushing on it and the nail usually works. I have long nails, so all I gotta do is take the tip of my nail, push down and take my left hand and grab the disc out by the top.

Still takes awhile to open all of it though.

OHMYGOSH Jenny I HATE the plastic wrap and the white sticky stuff you dont know HOW many Nails i've broken trying to get that crap off

The DVDs themselves, I can deal with, but those plastic seals are despicable!

Seriously, I've often wondered that as well. Some of the packages hold the DVDs so tightly that I'm afraid I'll break the thing just taking it out. Others are not tight enough, and the disc bangs around loose inside the package and comes flying out when you open the thing. Ugh!

There are a few styles of packaging that are great, and really easy to work with. Why they don't all use that kind of design is a mystery.

Or maybe, like I said, it's an evil plot.

Maybe the easy opening packages are pattented. 'Pattent pending 2014'. Dang, it'll be awhile till the lousy opening packages are a thing of the past.

I've never noticed DVDs being hard to get out of the case. All mine, with a few exceptions, have that thing you push down in the middle.

Yeah it has the push down thing bt when you push it the DVD doesn't come out that easily.

I like to help my friends at this CD/VHS/DVD/Record store and man is it hard to get those things out!! (I didnt wanna break them.... I was checking new ones that came in to make ure they werent damaged or anything before hitting the floor)
