Do you like the first season in good ole black and white, or do you like it in color?

Me I like seeing it in Black and White after watching it in Color but I still prefer Color. I just have this thing about Black and White, I dunno it bugs me.

I liked it in color. I always wondered what colors certain things were. I finally got to see on Hallmark.

I like the black and white episodes better. They seem to be better written as well. Not as slapstick as later years.

But being an old fella I always will be a black and white fan.

B&W. I dont like seeing any show Colorized from the original B&W, the colors are usually all wrong and everyone has a blue tint to their skin tone.

Funny you asked,

I was thinking about this lately myself; because as much as I was looking forward to seeing the B&W eps for a change, I realize now that I much prefer it in color.

As someone here said before, Jeannie is a colorful character, and B&W doesn't do that show justice.

NBC should have had more faith in IDOJ in the first place and should have filmed the first season in color, IMHO.

Barbara Eden was on Good Morning America the other day, and she said something about the B&W episodes, "I was pregnant and I guess they thought that I would die."  That was her reply to Charlie asking her about why the first season was in black and white. lol.

Yea, and I think she also mentioned some other time that it was so cold out on the beach during the filming of the first ep, that her lips were blue (so she didn't mind it being in B&W, really).

Yeah, I had heard about that Zuma Beach scene. lol. I guess B&W does have advantages.

Come to think of it, I actually feel the opposite about Bewitched though, and prefer to see it in B&W.

Colored. Hallmark's Colorized episodes looked really good and basically just looked like the later seasons.

I Have a thing about Black and White. Colored Is alot better.

I prefer them in B&W. That's how they were made, so that's how they should stay.

I prefer to see the I Dream Of Jeannie show in color as of opposed to black and white. The very first episode that I saw of IDOJ was in color.

Jeannie's character certainly became friendlier in the color episodes. In one black and white one, she wants to make a woman die by the death of a thousand knives because their families were feuding. In color episodes, behavior like that was left up to her relatives like her uncle. There is also a black and white episode where Jeannie wants to turn a child into nothing because he is bothering Major Nelson. In color episodes, Jeannie became very sympathetic to children and even wrote a book on how to be a good mother. That's why I think Jeannie's twin sister didn't appear until the color episodes, in many of the black and white ones, SHE was the evil Jeannie. LOL

I like the colored ones the most too. Maybe it's because I'm used to color. They didn't make things in B&W anymore by the time I was born.

B&W as it was filmed, I hate when people feel the need to colorize them IMO it takes something away from them. It would be like colorizing I love Lucy or the Dick Van Dyke show. I loved the B&W Bewitched episodes too, I hate that they colorized the B&W episodes. B&W should stay B&W!

If it ain't broke then don't fix it, is my dad's motto and I think that goes for the B&W episodes

I agree in what some of you said, like some sitcoms look better in color than in Black and White. Jeannie was def. better in color. Bewitched worked well in both, but I do like it in black and white alot because of the first Darren. I can't imagation some Black and White shows in color. like I Love Lucy. I dunno, but to me that was made to be in Black and White even tho her other sitcoms were in Color, ILL was always the best and it wasn't in color.

I'm going to sort of answer the question.

I honestly prefer I Dream of Jeannie in color, and Bewitched in B&W. LOL.

I like both b&w and color episodes. It really shows the evolution of television in the 60's as well as the evolution of the characters in both Jeannie and Bewitched. Most of our long running 60's shows started out in black & white before the switch to color. The Dick Van Dyke show would have to if they hadn't abruptly cancelled it.

I voted both. Usually I don't like to colorize classics, but these were very well done. Maybe this will help the first season being seen in syndication more often.
