View Full Version : How many times at the piano? Janice 06-03-2003, 02:35 AM How many versions are there of Archie and Edith playing, Those Were The Days? In other words, how many differents openings? Thanks. :) Brian 06-03-2003, 06:18 PM I know there was more than one but you would have to really listen. In later episodes, when it gets to the part where they sing, "Gee our old Laselle ran great.", Edith enunciates that line more clearly than Archie. maxcarey 06-07-2003, 10:46 PM I think that there were three. There was one that began with the series, which changed a few years later (with a laugh track in the song) and again after Mike and Gloria left the show. I could be wrong. Janice 06-08-2003, 12:58 AM The dress that Edith wears would be a clue. I'm curious how many piano openings there were. Ferris Bueller 07-31-2003, 02:55 AM There were four different versions... --Spring 1971 --1971-75 --1975-78 (they also changed the way the presented the cast as well in this version--now they introduced the cast followed by "in All in the Family" after that) --1978-79 TV Guy 08-11-2003, 11:19 PM And there was actually one more -- Carroll and Edith did a special version for the "Best of All in the Family" hour-long episode, hosted by Henry Fonda. But this was a one-time-only opening. treky 08-15-2003, 12:47 AM I think they recorded a new version of it every season. |
