So i finally hook my DVD player to my computer to get some video clips from it, but imagine my surprise when i try recording, the video doesn't show!! this sucks...now i have 2 find a work-around online for it...anyone know anything? i use the ATI TV program
Almost all DVDs are encrypted with MacroVision, which prevents duplication. If you want to make screen caps, you need a DVD-ROM drive and software that allows you to make screen caps from your DVD drive.
Yeah it wouldn't let me play it in my playstation 2, o well. I have a dvd player.

screen caps are no problem...its the videos that i want and can't get yet.
i have a DVD-ROM drive in my computer, but i def. wouldn't use it to get videos from any DVD...you can't, using the software that came w/ it
im talkin about actually hooking up a DVD Player to my computer, cuz my video card has software to get video clips from any VCR/video camera/cable/DVD player/whatever. but i guess Macrovision (i always wondered what it was called lol) prevents it...guess I'll have 2 find a way around it

I'm sure it's possible. Try to find a DVD Ripper. I don't know much about them, but I know they're readily available on the web.
