Mijada 05-16-2003, 06:39 PM I think it was My Three Sons. It ran from 1960-72 I believe. Ozzie and Harriet ran a long time too. I'm not sure how long though. I know that it started out as a radio show before it went to television. Penny Lane 05-16-2003, 06:49 PM I would guess MASH. Ran 11 years. Central Perk 05-16-2003, 06:51 PM I hate to say this but technically the longest running sitcom is the british comedy Last Summer of the Wine, it's been on the air for around thirty years. Mijada 05-16-2003, 06:55 PM Originally posted by Larry Paul I hate to say this but technically the longest running sitcom is the british comedy Last Summer of the Wine, it's been on the air for around thirty years. Oh Ok Sean Snow 05-16-2003, 06:58 PM The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriett is the longest running American sitcom as of right now, it ran from 1952 to 1966. The Simpsons has also run 14 years I believe, but that show has far less episodes than O&H and it only aired like one or two episodes in 1989 werm sooo I'd still count O&H until the new season begins. Werm. LucyFan 05-16-2003, 08:02 PM I believe that the longest-running American sitcom was The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. The show lasted 14 years which ran from 1952 to 1966 and produced over 400 episodes. However, "Ozzie & Harriet" may not be the longest-running American sitcom for much longer since The Simpsons will be ending its 14th year this spring and thus beginning its 15th year next fall. Th Simpsons will have more seasons, but since they have less episodes per season these days, it'll take a while for The Simpsons to beat out Ozzie and Harriet for the amount of episodes. The Simpsons is expected to end in atleast May of 2005. So, that means it should have about 16 seasons and about 360 episodes and then that will make it the longest running American sitcom in television history, with The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriett as the runner-up. webuster 05-17-2003, 03:45 AM Last of The Summer Wine hasn't had NEARLY as many episodes as a sitcom in America if a US sitcom ran for 30 years. I think there's something like 350 episodes or so! They always took breaks on that show- sometimes for like five years all the while releasing maybe one episode every few months as a little treat kinda. Absolutely Fabulous was like that for a while but has picked up. AtlantaBravesFan29 05-17-2003, 06:42 PM Here are the longest run of a sitcom by episodes: 1. Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet(1952-1966)--435 episodes 2. My Three Sons(1960-1972)--380 episodes 3. The Simpsons(1989-present)--311 episodes and counting 4. Cheers(1982-1993)--275 episodes Adamantium 05-17-2003, 07:42 PM Originally posted by BravesFan712002 Here are the longest run of a sitcom by episodes: 1. Cheers(1982-1993)--275 episodes I have a similar list. This does not include The Simpsons. 01. The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet (1952-1966) 435 episodes 02. My Three Sons (1960-1972) 380 episodes 03. Make Room for Daddy (1953-1964) 336 episodes 04. Cheers (1982-1993) 275 episodes 05. The Donna Reed Show (1958-1966) 274 episodes 06. M*A*S*H (1972-1983) 255 episodes 07. Happy Days (1974-1984) 255 episodes 08. Bewitched (1964-1972) 254 episodes 09. The Jeffersons (1975-1985) 253 episodes 10. The Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968) 249 episodes I could be wrong about this list. Not about the episode numbers, but I might have missed a show a two. However, if All in the Family and Archie Bunker's Place are combined then you get 308 episodes. The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry R.F.D. combined gives a total of 327 episodes. Those are examples of shows that changed titles, but ran a long time. AJ2086 05-17-2003, 07:46 PM To who said Britain had the longest running soap opera they are wrong. Guiding Light is the longest runing soap opera. Impressions 05-17-2003, 08:12 PM Originally posted by TVAdam I have a similar list. This does not include The Simpsons. 01.
