Everyone on the show execpt for Eric ahs a biblical name. Did they do that on purpose or was it just a coincidnece?

Ruthie and Lucy don't have famous bible names, and I figure that it is on purpose. Eric not having a biblical name is probably just coincidence, but they might have did that on purpose.I don't know for sure.:talk:

There's a Ruth in the Old Testament. But yeah, Eric and Lucy don't have Biblical names. Eric kind of makes sense though. His parents didn't know when they named him that he'd grow up to be a minister! :lol: Lucy doesn't make sense though. You'd think Eric would want all his kids' names to be Biblical.

Kristen No, I think Lucy is a Biblical name. She is mentioned once in one verse. I wih I knew of the verse but I am 85% sure it is a biblical name. Maybe not though but I could have sworn it was.

oh and in one epsidoe they say they named Sam and david after these certain singers 9i think they were brothers) well what luck that they wolud fit in to the Biblical names even though it wasn't intended.

I dunno. I haven't ever read about a Lucy in the bible, but I could be wrong. The only reason I didn't say that Ruth was a biblical name was because Ruthie has never been called Ruth so thats not really her name on the show.

Yeah, she was named after her Eric's Mom, right? That's what I always assumed.

Annie isn't a biblical name unless her real name is Anna. Lucy is not, nor is Eric.

Ruthie is sufficient enough biblically. Ruthie is a child so of course they will call her that. Annie's name is debatable. Eric and Lucy are the ministers in the family and they don't have biblical names. Ironic, huh? Getting back to Ruthie, I believe her name derived from a biblical perspective and we call Matt by the name of Matt and relate it from the book of Matthew. Lucy may have been named biblically, though.

Of course, Ruthie was named after Ruth, Annie's Mom. At the same time, it is also obvious that it was done as a biblical name. It makes sense that it would be the kids in the minister's family that had the biblical name.
