Lodee 10-28-2003, 04:57 PM He fell wham bam right on the floor didn't even try to stop himself with his hands or knees That was pretty impressive. I don't think I could do that. crazyredhead 10-28-2003, 05:03 PM Yup Splain, THAT'S where you and I differ. lol I don't really judge who's my favorite by how funny they are, so I'm not saying Desi was the funniest. But I do think he was funny. :) I don't thik I could do that either Lodee! *tries it and busts head open* Nope can't do it! *cackles* SPLAIN 10-29-2003, 11:00 AM Like i said before, many times, as a child i fell in love with the character of Lucy, then discovered the others around her, and started loving them also, then as i got older, i found out they all had great contributions to the show and it was the perfect meshing of four of the greatest performers that ever got together for anything. But i rarely laugh at any of the three, they all had their moments of course, but the one that kept me coming back for 50 years was Lucy. However, it IS extremely hard to picture the show with Richard Denning and Bea and Gale instead of that great trio! And the absence of the Desi musical numbers would be a great loss also! Amber8611 10-29-2003, 11:22 AM I could live without Desi's musical numbers. You're right though, Lucy IS the star but it would be so different without Desi, Viv, and Bill. I still think it would have worked though, afterall her later shows did pretty well without them. SPLAIN 10-29-2003, 11:44 AM Well, you and I know that, but that's so hard to say around here! LOL! I'm one of the few people who enjoyed The Lucy show MORE when Viv left, there were no longer any distractions from my Lucy and her celeb friends! Besides Viv was uppity, not like Ethel at all! I like my best friends lovable, not someone to always tangle with! That was the reason i hated Gale back then also, always yelling and screaming. Amber8611 10-29-2003, 12:38 PM I actually liked the Viv character better than Ethel. She was more like Lucy's equal instead of Ethel who always did whatever Lucy told her to do. And I love all of her sarcastic lines. SPLAIN 10-29-2003, 03:04 PM Well Amber, that's my problem right there, i never considered anybody to be Lucy's equal! LOL! Mkaleek 10-29-2003, 03:22 PM Yeah Splain, I know how you are. SPLAIN 10-29-2003, 04:01 PM Yes, by now, eveybody should! Lodee 10-29-2003, 04:26 PM I watched the first 10 minutes of Cousin Ernie Hangs On last night. ;) I liked the episode where Viv came to visit Lucy in CA. She didn't act mean or snotty in that one. She was really funny. SPLAIN 10-29-2003, 04:35 PM Yes, as much as i didn't mind her leaving the series, i loved it when she made her VISITS, they were always great shows! Lodee 10-30-2003, 10:08 AM I watched the first 10 minutes of the one where they sublet their apartment last night.:) Kazza 10-30-2003, 02:10 PM Lodee; do you watch 10 minute intervals of each episode or what? Mkaleek 10-30-2003, 02:24 PM hahahahaha:lol: SPLAIN 10-30-2003, 02:46 PM Thanks, i wanted to ask her the same thing! Lodee 10-30-2003, 03:32 PM Well, I get up early so I try to go to bed early, but sometimes I can't resist seeing what episode is on TVLand at 11pm. (even though I've seen em all) Am I strange, or what? SPLAIN 10-30-2003, 03:50 PM Oh ok, i can understand now, they lose you at the first series of endless commercials! Amber8611 10-30-2003, 04:46 PM  I've never turned off Lucy to go to bed, lol. Last night I started watching "The Affairs of Annabel," and before I knew it, it was 2:30am and I had to get up at 5 for school. The last episode of ILL I watched was "Country Club Dance." Wow Amber, I don't know how you can do that! If that were me I'd be a zombie in the morning and such a you-know-what to people for the rest of the day, it wouldn't even be funny. The last ILL episode I watched was "The Golf Game," but I just watched "Forever Darling" because I felt like it. ;) Mkaleek 10-31-2003, 12:50 AM I LOOVEEDD "Forever Darling", strictly because it was Lucy and Desi in color, up and personal. It kind of drags, slow-paced and all, but it was a great movie. SPLAIN 10-31-2003, 10:59 AM I agree with that, Forever Darling, Mame and Critic's Choice aren't as bad as they are made out to be! crazyredhead 10-31-2003, 01:41 PM Yes, I loove Forever Darling too! I know that whole song on there too! lol! SPLAIN 10-31-2003, 02:01 PM I especially love the bit where the plants get bigger at the front door but their goodbye's get quicker and flimsier as they are married longer. crazyredhead 10-31-2003, 05:16 PM lol! yup! Lodee 11-03-2003, 02:48 PM I watched the whole 30 minutes of the one where Lucy hits the talent scout over the head. I love the part where they prop him up on the couch and Ethel combs his hair to look like Hitler. MagsLovesLucy 11-03-2003, 03:43 PM Originally posted by Lodee I watched the whole 30 minutes of the one where Lucy hits the talent scout over the head. It's the one I've most recently watched, too. Kristina 11-03-2003, 10:47 PM "The Kleptomaniac", I've been watching my old ILL tapes lately. :D Kazza 11-03-2003, 10:49 PM Can't believe she got that baby elephant in that apartment Amber8611 11-03-2003, 11:55 PM "Lucy Gets Chummy With the Neighbors" MagsLovesLucy 11-04-2003, 10:49 AM "Hollywood Anniversary" Fran=Lucy 02-07-2004, 08:31 PM "The Audition Show" :) SPLAIN 02-09-2004, 11:47 AM Here in Canada, on Friday night it was that hilarious boarding of the ship for the trip to Europe, and the helicopter which cracks me up every single time, one of the best moments of the series! You are going to lower WHO on the WHAT to go WHERE? Amber8611 02-10-2004, 03:13 PM LOL! I love that episode! I last watched "Lucy Gets in Pictures." :) Kazza 02-10-2004, 03:20 PM I haven't got to see any Lucy this week; since school is out this week I've been running errands. I'm not very happy with TVLAND and their 'swishes either:mad: Lodee 02-10-2004, 04:14 PM The last one I saw was The Indian Show. I think it was on Sunday. I love that episode. It cracks me up every time. SPLAIN 02-10-2004, 04:49 PM Yes, the way she sings that song and her saying no to him telling her to come down, cracks me up also. Kazza 02-10-2004, 04:53 PM 'Commmeeee hereeee" Unh, unh ,unh unhhhhh" I got to see this last time the original girl that sings the song on that ep. I was impressed by her beautiful voice. For some reason I had never seen her before.:( |
