Thanks for posting the schedule, Pav. I'm glad that some of these shows are returning, but does this mean that Archie Bunker's Place, The Munsters and The Love Boat will leave TV Land in April or are they just on hiatus?

This means that The Donna Reed Show will only be on Sundays, correct?

I'm a little ticked they are dropping the Munsters before the rights expire; I mean, I have most of the episodes anyway, but I was trying to catch the few I missed.

All these changes are kind of strange, IMO, I think all are just fillers until new programming comes, at least, I hope. I'm glad to get a second chance for Gidget, and The Flying Nun, but still odd changes.

Same for The Waltons, I mean, Hallmark has the full rights, why would TV Land bring it back?

The Donna Reed Show does not even air on Sundays currently. Sundays BLTT block airs, and the BLTT block schedule for April is not out yet, hopefully Donna Reed will be in that block in April.

I was wondering the same thing, I think they were trying to get rid of The Munsters, before or around when Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie come in June, but I knew it was going to leave TV Land at some point, because they will lose the rights in May, and they won't be renewing it.

As for The Waltons, I don't know why TV Land is deciding to air it again. I guess they figured since Hallmark is airing it, they might as well as air it too while they still own rights to it. It may give them better ratings, maybe they figured that more people will have a better chance to watch it on TV Land, since many people don't have Hallmark.

It is kind of odd that they are bringing some of these shows back, I thought some of these shows left a long time ago, LOL. Although, it will be great seeing some them again.

I agree that "Gidget" shouldn't be ran two episodes a day (the entire series would be over in less than a month), but I don't think that Sally's shows are at all crummy. I think she is a great actress, and I think we are lucky to be able to see ALL of these wonderful, classic, and somewhat rare shows. This is how I'd make the Kitschen and BLTT:

I agree with that. Off hand, I think Kotter had the same amount of eps as ABP, 98. TV Land HAS aired all 98 eps of Kotter before, and are airing past 16 this time around in the Kitschen. Gidget should definitely replace Kotter in the Kitschen and TVL should move Kotter to ABP's timeslot. Or even move My Favorite Martian to the 5-6pm slot. Sure, it does fit in the Kitschen, but TVL is losing the rights soon, and they do own the rights to all of the episodes of MFM...

I don't think there is any reason for them to bring it back, having only thirty-two episodes, in twice as nice, it will only take a few weeks to finish the show off. It's a good thing that it will be leaving in a month, and hopefully by then something else will fill the timeslot. But I still don't see why it has to replace, Archie Bunkers Place, even though they did air most of the episodes that they were able to. Instead of being placed in twice as nice, I think it would be best if Gidget and The Flying Nun were rather placed in the Kitschen, so that Archie Bunker's Place could stay in its current time-slot.

Why Gidget for Archie Bunker's Place? LOL.

Considering that the shows in the Kitschen are there for a short period of time, and only a limited amount of episodes can be aired. Why can't TV Land take the shows which air in the Kitschen, so they can place them in the regular line-up. For example, I'd like to see them air all of the episodes of: Welcome Back Kotter; Perfect Strangers; Mary Hartman; Mary Hartman; My Favorite Martian, etc.

Maybe some of these shows, can be aired in the regular schedule.

I am upset to see The Munsters go. What a shame it is to see TV Land dropping it from their weekly schedule. Instead of dropping it altogether, they should at least put on the weekends like maybe on TV Land KitSchen or BLTL or something. Having
The Flying Nun replace The Munsters is a horrible choice on their part I think. The Flying Nun isn't near as good as The Munsters, in fact, The Munsters is far superior to The Flying Nun. TV Land should re-think their schedule a bit and keep The Munsters for a little bit longer or else put on the weekends and give the 11:30pm timeslot to a fairly good show like Dennis the Menace.

Now that I think about it, I just remembered something. "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" had 325 episodes. Now if TVLand aired it about twice a day, 7 days a week (like maybe 6PM and 6:30PM central), it wouldn't take forever for them to get through the whole show. It'd take 23 weeks and 3 days for them to complete the run. That'd be a couple of weeks over five months. So it'd April-September and then they can take it off, or better yet repeat the run all over again!

TV Land could have even more episodes if they picked up the spin-off "Forever Fernwood". Since TV Land has "Fernwood 2night", they should also have "America 2night". It would be cool if the kitschen could pick up some new shows.

The first post in this thread was updated, just added the Box Sets, TVL Legends, and ET in TV Land for April. Also, BLTT and The Kitschen blocks will be the same in April as it is now.

Well, I'm glad to see that Mr. Ed is coming back. I love that show and didn't tape it from N@N years ago. I wish they would pick up Patty Duke as well and What's Happening. I haven't seen that one in 20 years.

I HATE Archie Bunker's Place. Carroll O'Connor acts like he is on sedatives or something. Now, All in the Family, that's good! They should bring that back. I like The Munsters, but I think it has played itself out. However, I don't know if I can stomach The Waltons and Gidget - GOD! I'm surprised Sally Field doesn't sue to stop the reruning of that horrible show! The programmers at TV Land are high or something. They keep making all these pointless schedule changes. And the shows they are putting on are simply not classic TV. Why McGyver? How about Marcus Welby M.D.?

I actually like Gidget. This time of year when it's starting to be spring, I like getting that "feeling" of the beach. I'm really happy about Mr. Ed and I'm estatic about Hazel!

When Hazel returns, I hope they show more episodes than the 20 or so episodes that they ran over and over .

"Gidget"...only the cast of "Blue Crush" would enjoy this one.
"The Flying Nun"...the cast of "Dangerous Livers of Alder Boys"
would enjoy this one.
"Hazel"...never heard of it. I bet it's about a witch or nut.
"The Waltons"...too boring. (blech!) Even those from PBS wouldn't watch this garbage.

BTW, the girls from "Blue Crush" are much cuter & actually can surf compared to "Gidget". Sally Field isn't much of a looker.

They are working on that I think, for March 30. Still no episode info. Both these shows are just acquired for these "special" box sets, they won't air at all in the regular rotation.

Yeah, I knew they wouldn't air in the regular rotation. I could see TV Land eventually, far down the line, picking up Star Trek. It would be a nice acquisition, but it probably wouldn't be for a few years, and besides, Sci Fi still has the rights.

It will still be nice to see those shows airing on TV Land, even if only for one day, lol (yes, I know, Star Trek is on Sci Fi, but it won't be after this month, and I haven't seen Julia for a long time)

I can only take the Munsters in small doses. I don't care for Sanford and son. I liked it when it first on in the 1970's but now I just can't get into it. Hazel, Mr Ed. and Gidget I can see again. I read Sally Fields sons coudn't stand The Flying Nun and with so much comment from them about the show, I can't either.

Yeah, I agree with the person who said ABP is bad. I mean, the first seaon was OK, but then near the end when Stephanie was all grown up, Billie lived with them, etc...I tuned in the other day to a last season ep, and it was so weird - there were maybe 1 or 2 *single* (ie - one person laughing) laughs for like 10 minutes - it was freaky...almost like they were trying to make it a dramedy towards the end or something...

My mom absolutely loves Mr. Ed and Hazel so I'm sure she'll be excited about that...The Munsters, while I love the show, I agree that it's run its course on TV Land for now - too much of a good thing is bad, and I hardly ever watch it anymore...I actually kind of enjoyed Gidget while it was on last year so I'm looking forward to watching it again...and the Waltons?...that has to be the most dull and boring show in history John Boy...sheesh...

TV Land lost rights to Odd Couple last June. Green Acres could return in 2004, but Mister Ed is for sure coming fall 2003. Addams Family is not coming. TV Land has Beaver for 4 years, it started June 2001.

Pavan, I have a couple of questions:

1) How long does TV Land have rights to each one of these shows:
