I was just in the Bahamas and a local there told me that Gilligan's Island was filmed on an island there in the Bahamas? Is this true or was someone pulling my leg?

We even bought a map of the island and on it is printed Gilligan's Island hch 10-22-2001, 10:59 AM The Pilot was filmed in Hawaii, but the rest of the series was filmed in a studio in CBS Studio Center, except for a few episodes at the lagoon, but that probably wasn't a real lagoon, but a synthetic lake they built. The island you see in the title screen is not real, but a small scale model built in a pool or something. Yes folks, appearances can indeed be deceiving. |
