I recently heard that Gary Coleman will be making a Senate run. Is there any truth to this? And if so, does anyone know if he is running for state or U.S. Senate?

LOS ANGELES (UltimateTV.com) - Gary Coleman has announced his intention to run for a California senate seat.

The 32-year old former “Diff’rent Strokes” star told the Fox News Channel that he has not chosen a party affiliation, but expressed a proclivity toward the independent ticket. He said he chose California over New York because the Big Apple is “just too far.” Also, he wanted to avoid a competition with Hilary Rodham Clinton in a state he knows little about.

Coleman, who once filed for bankruptcy, recently earned $10,000 in an auction of his personal items sponsored by the entertainment Web site UGO Networks.
