do start, search, type defrag, double click on the thing that says 'defragmenting' or something like that

it reorganizes and compacts the files on your comp, or so i am told.

Meangya I hate it when my Dad does that. Ugh, I also hate it when he erases everything and starts fresh over. (Or is that the same thing... ) Its annoying. Then, he tries networking the computers. Meangya, once it took like 3 days b/c it was all messed up. Ugh, was that ever annoying LOl. No computer for 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:faint:

Well do you defrag yours weekly? Have a lotta files? If you do it weekly or so it shouldnt take very long but when you haven't done it in awhile... ;), A month ago I defragged the other comp in this house, It hadnt been defragged in at least a year and a half or so, Took around 8 hours...

I defrag weekly. It only takes an hour or less. I scan disk weekly also, though usually only a standard scan. When I do a thorough scan disk that takes several hours.

I heard it was bad for the computer if you defrag too often. Is that true, or just a mistake?
