View Full Version : Fonzie was STRANGE! Barnabas1 01-02-2003, 11:43 AM Fonzie acts so strange in the first seasons....he hardly talks! Anyone else notice? In the peak seasons, he was a great guy!! You have a wonderful man, CollegeGirl! Cactus Jack 01-02-2003, 01:33 PM Yeah, he waeras his leather in the last eps of season 1 animalcrackers 01-02-2003, 02:16 PM He was like the quiet, loner. Cactus Jack 01-02-2003, 02:16 PM Yeah:D White_Daisy 01-02-2003, 04:09 PM But back then the focus of the show was supposed to be on Richie & Potsie so they didn't need Fonzie to be so cool. CollegeGirl 01-02-2003, 04:09 PM Thanks, WD, I think so too! Well, Fonzie was supposed to be the ultra cool James Dean clone: quiet, but when he talked it was so cool that it left an impact on you. He was the loner/rebel who did things because HE thought it was cool and because HE wanted to, and not because it was what was expected by the community. He was the strong, independent type. Fonzie and I have talked a lot about this, and it seems to me that it stemmed mostly from his feeling alone in the world. The fact that his parents abandonned him and left him to pretty much raise himself shaped him to become the kind of person who relied only on himself. Later, Richie, Ralph, and Potsie persuaded him to open up more. Their friendships with him helped to change his outlook on life. You are an amazing writer!! You've met him before? CollegeGirl 01-02-2003, 04:20 PM Originally posted by White_Daisy That is the most inspiring analyzation of Fonzie I have ever read. You are an amazing writer!! Thanks, I'm a trained professional analyzer. The writing part just follows. *LOL* But, I find Fonzie such an amazing, inspiring person. He has so many sides that can be explored. I still dream of meeting him one day, though. That would be my fantasy. Just being able to sit and talk with him about life, movies, film, etc. However, I have a living fanfic going that I am engaged to Arthur Fonzarelli the fictional character. It can be a bit confusing to people reading it and trying to understand what is going on, I suppose. And it may seem very STRANGE, but it's fun. It's like reading a fanfic piece that never ends-- or for me, it's writing a fanfic piece that never ends. I enjoy weaving plots and storylines together to tell the story. If you go through some of the threads, you will see these brief stories scattered throughout. These characters don't exist in real life, but we still believe that they manage to live out their lives somehow. I don't think the gang ever grew up. In my head, they're still sitting there in Arnold's... iluvfonzie 01-02-2003, 05:55 PM Originally posted by CollegeGirl But, I find Fonzie such an amazing, inspiring person. After all, he is the Fonz! TroyH3 01-02-2003, 07:41 PM Saw episode one last night on TVLAND entitled " ALL THE WAY". It's weird seeing Fonzie not hardly speaking , just noddin and such. Personally, I feel Fonzie's character in season one was more mysterious and cooler when he was like this. I think he was feared more and still was liked but when he started to have more speaking lines , it seemed like his mysteriousness went away. My .02 cents. :talk: iluvfonzie 01-02-2003, 09:15 PM Perhaps a bit, but Fonzie has proven himself time and again to be an honorable man and a great friend. ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 01-03-2003, 12:24 AM Yea.. he was so mysterious!! Actually though, I liked him best the first 2 seasons! He wasnt so..so.. THERE. He was quiet, tough, and more..mature, IF you know what i mean. He was always mature, but he seemed so much more older then. Elvis Fonzie Dean 01-03-2003, 01:16 AM The Fonz is cool in all the episodes!!!I also the rareness off him being quiet and the cloth jacket (which the only reason he wore a cloth jacket because the network it originally aired on thought a leather jacket would make him look like a criminal...damn it first aired in 1974...didn't people learn their lesson by then?.And what was wierder...I remember in one episode(maybe others) he had leather and cloth on...maybe they were experimenting what the people would say about his leather jacket.). |
