It was really how he got his big break into show business was that appearance. He was hysterical! Johnny told viewers once that Freddie was his all-time favorite stand-up comedian. That's why he had him on so many times. I used to watch the Tonight Show all the time back then (especially during Christmas and summer vacations), and I don't remember a single appearance Freddie made on there! Not even the first one and definitely not the ones when he was the host!
