View Full Version : Living the Dream
Luckymama58 07-22-2001, 07:30 AM Hi, my Freddie family. I may be scarce on the board the next few days. I know many of you like the annoniminity of the internet, that's why you feel at home here, so my great adventure might not hit you the same way it is hitting me, but I wanted to share with you that I'm getting to live out a dream. Ever since I have been frequenting these boards and talking to some of you online and through e-mail, I have felt that I touch a little part of who Freddie was with each post and conversation. I am a very social person by nature and it has been my dream to take this contact one step further and actually get to meet at least one of you in person. I'm starting that dream today and will need your prayers, as I am driving 6 hours by myself to meet a fellow Freddie fan. We have lots of good times planned for our short 48 hours together, but meeting her will be like meeting at least a part of Freddie for me. I don't know if any of you understand this, but I wanted to share my excitement with you. Please pray for mariposa, as she and her family have so graciously agreed to this visit. She'll need them, meeting me in person! LOL http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif And pray for my family, especially my hubby, who may not understand all of this, but have been so supportive. I know hubby, at least, is as nervous as I am about my trip. See you all on Thursday! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif

chicosladyfair 07-23-2001, 06:37 PM Have a great time Luckymama...don't do anything us Chico-fans wouldn't do...well, alright go ahead. But be careful. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
I might be getting the chance to meet one of our happy tribe this coming Christmas...I'm trying to talk Esmerelda into coming out to sunny California for the holidays. And one of these days I'd like to get together with Macca. Of course, I would like to see all of us get together for a huge Chico-gathering. I think that would be a hoot.
MariposaLKB 07-23-2001, 06:49 PM Hey, what's all this "be careful" stuff? Whatcha think I am, an axe-murderer or something?????!!!!!!! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/eek2.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/rotflmao.gif
We happen to be having a very good, safe time!

Pitooey 07-23-2001, 07:33 PM Butterfly - You make me laugh...... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/lol.gif If the shoe was on the other foot we would be telling you to be careful too that's all. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/lol.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/lol.gif http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/lol.gif
chicosladyfair 07-24-2001, 12:37 AM I was more worried about Luckymama driving for such a distance...car trouble, flat tire...etc. One can never be too safe when travelling alone. Nothing personal, Mariposa.
Cheryl Harrell 07-24-2001, 04:27 AM LOL! Glad you are having fun! Tell her we said HI! I figured they were referring to car trouble...
That would be cool if we could all get together. In order for me to go it would have to be in Richmond, VA. Sadly I couldn't travel real far off to other states... WIsh I could tho... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
Karen64 07-24-2001, 08:03 AM That's so neat to see 2 of the friends from this board actually meet in person! My sister did that-she went to another state to meet a friend she had made online and it turned out really nice!
Would love to meet all of you in person but I know that may never happen, given all the distance between us...
I have pictures in my head of what all of you look like and different personalities come out with each person's posts! It almost seems like I've met you all already! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wave.gif
Pitooey 07-24-2001, 09:45 AM I think we would be surprise at how all of us look like.

Luckymama58 07-25-2001, 01:44 AM Once there were two ladies. They were very different but very much the same. The first was very shy and quiet and the second was very outgoing and talkative. The first lived in LA for part of her life and the second lived in NYC for part of hers. The first has two beautiful children, the second has three. Both have loving husbands who do not understand everything they do, but are always loving and supportive. The first has a talent for words and the second a talent for music. Both have the heart of a teacher and a friend. Both have a true faith in God.
For the first forty + years of their lives they did not know the other even existed. But both were brought together by a life that started before either were born and ended before either realized how much their lives would be impacted by his brief sojourn on this planet. Through the talent, humor and sexy good looks of this man, these two ladies found a common interest, a common love. Through the inspiration of this man, the first was inspired to explore new ways to use her talent with words and encourage the second to discover a hidden talent for words she never knew existed. Throught the inspiration of this man, the second was inspired to let her heart explore the music insider herself and help encourage the first to see the undiscovered music in her heart. As the months progressed, they shared ideas, laughter, and tears. They shared good times and bad. The more they talked, the more they found out that they shared more than their love and admiration for the man that brought them together and inspired them. All of this was done without either of them knowing what the other looked like or sounded like, using a means of communication that was unknown to the man who brought them together. Then one day these two ladies were granted the great gift of getting to meet face to face. The first was willing to open her home and share her generous hospitality and the second was willing to face traveling a distance by herself so this meeting could occur. All the while, they both felt the smiling presence of the man who started them on this journey. For an all too brief forty-eight hours, the two ladies shared his laughter by watching his show, shared his inspiration by sharing their talents and had a great time sharing a computer to spread their enjoyment to others. Now the second is on her way home, stopping to visit her son at college before completing her journey. As she left the driveway of the first, she had tears in her eyes and love in her heart for the first who had called her "sister". It is through those tears of joy, not sadness, that the second was inspired to write this tribute to her friend and to the man who was responsible for their friendship. Thank you Freddie Prinze, your life is still working its magic today. Thank you Mariposa, for more than these humble words could ever express. If the people on this board are Freddie's Family, then that truly makes you "my sister", but you are my sister in more ways than this, as I have found out! And thank you to everyone here who support and encourage the friendships that have developed because we share a common love.

Cheryl Harrell 07-25-2001, 06:57 AM Sounds like you had a great time & met a sister! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif At Arlos shows I've been able to meet some of his other friends & it's been fun. Sadly we don't have Freddie comedy shows to go to where we could get together at those. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif We're all friends who haven't met yet! Glad you had a great time! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
MariposaLKB 07-25-2001, 07:33 AM OMG, Luckymama! I knew we had a really good time, but wow! Thank you so much for paying such an eloquent public tribute to our friendship and our Freddie. The best thing I can say in response is that you and many of the other people on this board and others are the greatest example of the signature you helped me set up--see below. Love you and all the rest of the friends I have made through Freddie's inspiration! Excuse me now while I get some tissues http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

bella66 07-27-2001, 07:45 AM Luckymama, that was just beautiful. Have to get a few kleenex myself. I'm so glad you's enjoyed your special visit.
Vicki39 07-29-2001, 07:45 AM It will always amaze me how someone who left us over 24 years ago still touches us all. I have wondered what you guys look like too. I am 5'5 with red hair and brown eyes. Not too thin, and not too fat----just right. Hope Freddie liked red heads!!
atlangel 07-29-2001, 06:34 PM To Luckymama and Mariposa, I just wanted to tell you how happy I am for both of you to have met in person and forged such a lovely friendship/sisterhood. When I read the tribute by Luckymama, I found myself weeping here at the computer! You expressed such beautiful sentiments. What a fine and wonderful statement you both make for friendship and the magic of "Our Prinze" that, like he, lives on. I am so happy that the travel was safe and that you two have been brought even closer. I know Freddie smiles about this meeting.
I hope there will be many more of our family members meeting in person. Bless all of you and know that we can feel the love, care and respect you have for one another.
