View Full Version : Wouldnt It Be Cool..
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 12-18-2002, 02:31 AM ..if a network (ABC, NBC, or CBS) aired their lineup from any random year for 24 hours? Like, they aired the episodes that aired that day, the soap opera and episodes, game shows, etc..? If they did that.. what Network, and what year would you want to see?
Id want to see ABC. Tuesday for Happy Days. Id like to see it for when they aired Richie Fights Back, but Ill live with any episode! No wait.. a year later so I can watch Laverne & Shirley and Three's Company (my favorite lineup).
Chocoholic 12-18-2002, 02:32 AM That does sound kinda cool, but I don't know if the networks would go for it.

That would be the best! Too bad ABC would never do it. :(
Brian Damage 12-18-2002, 02:36 PM I'd like to see NBC's Thursday line up from the 80's.
dawsongirl 12-18-2002, 09:52 PM Maybe that would get better ratings than what they show now.
I like this idea.
WHile I don;t think a network would do 24 hours of programming, I think it would be a neat stunt if they devoted a night of prime time (8-11) to a certain year.
Heck, they're always looking for something to show during the Summer, why not try this?
Good idea, MsConan.
Take the rest of the week off...
;)
ClassicComedyFan2 12-18-2002, 10:53 PM Similar to an idea I had called "It's Old to You" where all week in primetime are the best episodes of classics. Would be great, IMO.

That sounds like a do-able fantasy. (Nice adaptation on the idea.)
My pick would be:
CBS/ 1973/ Saturday night
The shows:
8:00 - All in the Family
8:30 - M*A*S*H
9:00 - The Mary Tyler Moore Show
9:30 - The Bob Newhart Show
10:00 - The Carol Burnett Show
Aahhh...good TV!
Brad Russ 12-21-2002, 06:16 AM I actually think that is a great idea! and if you get this idea out there to the networks I can definitely see this as something they'd consider trying. I know that CBS does this with many of there soap operas. I don't know if they still do, but I know they use to play old Young & The Restless episodes all the time. I think you should email all the major networks with your ideas. You got nothing to lose.
W.J. Griffin 12-25-2002, 11:53 PM I concur. This would be a spectacular way for the nets to do battle with the dreaded "summer rerun season"!
LucyFan 12-26-2002, 01:56 AM This would be my pick:
ABC/1977-1980/Tuesday Night
The shows:
8:00 pm- Happy Days
8:30 pm- Laverne & Shirley
9:00 pm- Three's Company

CBS still does that, as a matter of fact, they are showing a whole slew of classics at this time. For example, on Christmas Day, we saw "The Bold and the Beautiful" from 1990, "As the World Turns" from 1985, and "Guiding Light" from 1992. They are gonna show some more on Dec. 30 and Jan. 1, also. I know they have "Guiding Light" from 1983 on one of those days, so I'd keep an eye out. Only if ABC would do that with their soaps.
I'd pick ABC, Tuesdays, October 1978. Their sked was like this:
(all times central)
6am: "Good Morning, America" (morning show)
8am: Local Programming
10am: "Happy Days" (sitcom)
10:30: "Family Feud" (game show)
11am: "The $20,000 Pyramid" (game show)
11:30: "Ryan's Hope" (serial)
12pm: "All My Children" (serial)
1pm: "One Life to Live" (serial)
2pm: "General Hospital" (serial)
3pm: "The Edge of Night" (serial)
3:30: Local Programming
7pm: "Happy Days" (sitcom)
7:30: "Laverne & Shirley" (sitcom)
8pm: "Three's Company" (sitcom)
8:30: "Taxi" (sitcom)
9pm: "Starsky & Hutch" (crime drama)
or CBS Fridays from April 1983:
5am: "CBS Early Morning News" (news)
6am: "Morning" (morning show)
8am: Local Programming
9am: "The New $25,000 Pyramid" (game show)
9:30: "Child's Play" (game show)
10am: "The Price is Right" (game show)
11am: Local Programming
12pm: "The Young and the Restless" (serial)
12:30: "As the World Turns" (serial)
1:30: "Capitol" (serial)
2pm: "Guiding Light" (serial)
3pm: "TattleTales" (game show)
3:30: Local Programming
7pm: "The Dukes of Hazzard" (comedy-action)
8pm: "Dallas" (primetime serial)
9pm: "Falcon Crest" (primetime serial)
or ABC Thursdays from November 1967:
9:30: "The Donna Reed Show" (sitcom)
10am: "The Honeymoon Race" (game show)
10:30: "The Family Game" (game show)
11am: "Everybody's Talking" (game show)
11:30: "The Donna Reed Show" (sitcom)
12pm: "The Fugitive" (drama)
1pm: "The Newlywed Game" (game show)
1:30: "A Time for Us" (serial)
2pm: "General Hospital" (serial)
2:30: "Dark Shadows" (horror/serial)

Jack1000 01-01-2003, 04:36 PM I'm all for it!!!! They would have to have one condition however.....UNEDITED SHOWS!
