CBS has yanked freshman drama "Robbery Homicide Division" from its schedule in the first of a number of changes to its lineup.
"48 Hours" on December 13, a repeat of "C.S.I.: Miami" on Dec 20, and the annual Kennedy Center Honors on Dec 27 will replace the Michael Mann produced series for the remainder of December with midseason drama "Queens Supreme" permanently taking over the Friday, 10:00/9:00c slot on January 10. "R.H.D." is currently in production on its 12th episode. It is not known if all 13 episodes of its initial order will be shot.
Meanwhile, CBS has scheduled the return of struggling drama "Presidio Med." The series will air for two weeks in two time slots: its usual Wednesday, 10:00/9:00c home on Jan. 15 and 22 as well as Fridays at 8:00/7:00c on Jan. 17 and 24. At the end of those two weeks, CBS will make the call as to which slot will be its permanent home. Regularly scheduled Friday series "48 Hours" will take a break during the two-week stretch.
CBS has also decided to air its revival of "Star Search" across two nights of its schedule. Beginning January 8 the series will air Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:00/7:00c for four weeks before wrapping up its nine-episode run on Thursday, February 6. The move bumps "60 Minutes II" back an hour to 9:00/8:00c so that "Search" can avoid the blunt of "American Idol's" two 90-minute Wednesday editions as well as the launch of ABC's "The Bachelorette."
When "Search" wraps, "Survivor: The Amazon" is expected to retake its usual Thursday, 8:00/7:00c home on February 13. Three new primetime editions of "The Price Is Right" will fill the Wednesday, 8:00/7:00c before the launch of the fourth edition of "The Amazing Race" on February 26
