View Full Version : Did You Like How Wayne Picked On Kevin?
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 11-30-2002, 03:18 AM Did you like how Wayne always picked on Kevin? Sometimes it was funny..but he got out of hand a lot too! Like that whole hampster incident, the car accident, I can go on! LOl. But for the most part it was funny.
arnold 12-01-2002, 01:24 PM Of course, this is what made the show so realistic. There is no other show that comes this close to recreating life as it really is.
FOLrocks1 12-01-2002, 08:20 PM LOL! I love it! Especially when he called him a scrot
HuskerTornado 12-05-2002, 06:21 PM Yeah that was part of the shows comic releif. I consider this a great comedy but it is officially called a dramedy. Wayne was a great character. He really was the essence of an older brother. But he showed that he had a heart too, during that hamster episode for instance...
MagicDust1488 12-08-2002, 02:23 AM Wayne was kinda cruel to Kevin and he shouldn't have done all of those mean things!
For anyone who has had an older brother ---
Wayne's torture of Kevin was right on the mark.

I totally agree!
The only thing I didn't like was the incident with the hamster in which he threatened to throw it down the garbage disposal. Other than that, he always added a comedic element to the show. Without Wayne, the show would not have been funny. He had a lot in common with Eddie Haskell on Leave It To Beaver if you ask me, except Wayne was Kevin's older brother and Eddie was a friend of the Cleavers.
dandelion wine 11-19-2003, 01:32 AM Wayne could be a real punk, but then he was the older brother. I thought it was funny sometimes.
hawaii five-o 12-19-2003, 05:35 PM Kevin deserved it. He was a goody two shoes.
Mijada 01-03-2004, 03:28 PM Sometimes it was funny but most of the time I hated Wayne. He was so immature. It's not as if Kevin was an annoying little brat who deserved to be picked on. He mostly tried to stay out of his brothers way but Wayne didn't have anything better to do but beat up his brother.
metalrose5 04-16-2006, 06:30 PM When the show was on i was just a little kid and seeing Wayne do all those mean things to Kevin made me afraid of Wayne and glad i didn't have any older siblings. But now when i see the show I am not afraid of Wayne anymore but i still think he was cruel to Kevin at times. But he made up for it that time that Kevin had a party and Wayne took the blame.
Mikado 04-16-2006, 08:48 PM No, but, it was realistic....its ok though, you know that in later years Kevin would have to take care of Wayne who probably was living on welfare in a dumpster somewhere

Really? I thought he took over operations of his father's furniture business after he died! I'm sure his position paid him good enough money to keep him off of welfare.

True, but dont forget, we're talking about Wayne here....not long afterwards, he was teasing one of his workers with a lit match and saying " You think that couch will burn , Butthead, do ya, Butthead??"; and after the 4 alarm fire , found out he forgot to keep up the insurance payments! ;)
80sfan1981 05-16-2006, 10:00 PM One thing I noticed during the final season of this show is Wayne's picking on Kevin was toned down quite a bit. It just wasn't the same anymore not seeing them fight. The only time during the final season when they fought was the fishing trip episode, which was the second episode from that season. I think after that is when the writers toned the charachter of Wayne down a bit.

I agrre with you there, wwyd
Classicshowsgurl15 04-21-2007, 06:29 PM I thought it was funny sometimes, but it got out of hand too. I would get annoyed if my brother did that to me. Anybody would. That's why everyone can relate to it.
LincolnHeightsfan 04-21-2007, 07:36 PM I also noticed Wayne didn't pick on Kevin as much during the last Season. But you might notice Kevin was taller than Wayne by then, and I think he was stronger as well. I think Kevin really taught him his lesson when he knocked him on his *** during that Fishing Trip they went on early in the final Season. After that Wayne didn't mess with Kevin as much.
Belair 04-22-2007, 07:08 AM I love the episode where Wyane gets his licence and Kevin goes 'congratulations' and Wayne responds with- thanks butthead  So loving.
jayman75 07-04-2007, 10:26 AM LOL! I love it! Especially when he called him a scrot
Ahhh, the days where somewhat-adult language could be mixed into television. Very similar to Mike Seaver's friend "Boner."
I think the Wayne/Kevin scenes are dead-on. Definitely nothing harmful, but good king-of-the-hill stuff.
Sophie Treadmill 07-20-2007, 04:02 PM OMG! Wayne was absolutely insufferable! Jason Hervey did a great job with that role, because you really hated the older brother.
It's funny seeing him now, on Scott Baio is 45...and Single as one of Scott's friends.
hughpuppies 08-07-2007, 11:10 PM Anyone remember the episode where Kevin has a party at home when the parents are away, and when they come home and find the house a mess, they go to blame Kevin, and all of a sudden Wayne takes the blame.
Yes I had 3 older brothers, 2 of them used to pick on me like Wayne did to Kevin, they go that part down right and it was so realistic.
catlover79 08-08-2007, 12:55 AM It was realistic for sure - the big brother who lives to torment the little brother. It sure made up a great deal of the comedy!!
