I though it would be fun to have a thread about Earth's most geographical or climate extreme such as tallest mountain, deepest lake, largest city, coldest or hottest place on earth. I go first :)

Ulaanbaatar: Capital city of Mongolia in Asia with the population of 1.79 million, Ulaanbaatar is the coldest national capital in the world, and the coldest city on the planet with more than a million inhabitants. January temperatures at night hover around −32.8 and −40.0 °F.
