I say this because, I'm well aware that "Mad About You" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_About_You_(Belinda_Carlisle_song)) by Belinda Carlisle was released in 1986. Maybe I'm imagining things, but it seems like to me, "Mad About You" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmdtJWmR9zQ) and the remixed version of the Charles in Charge theme almost have the same kind of melody.
