I didn't care for a lot of the episodes in the final season, especially the vacuum cleaner episode. I just didn't find them anywhere near as funny as the episodes from the first 6 seasons were. I also thought the burning down the houses storyline was just lame.

I don't think I can ever watch the Lowell's House of Wax episode again. I only saw it once. It was on the morning of September 11, 2001 :crying:

Overall, I think a huge majority of the episodes are excellent and I think a bad Wings episode is still a heck of a lot funnier than lot of the garbage that is on TV nowadays.

I was wondering if there was even a subject on this. I know it was originally posted a while back but I just found it. I, too, think the later episodes weren't as good or funny. Remember that guy, Cord? One episode that I'm not too fond of is the one where Brian gains weight because he's eating so much because of Helen & Joe being together. I guess TV show writers seem to think that a person getting fat is funny, and it's not just the Wings writers. Brian's wearing sweat pants and t-shirt like I guess the writers think that's the only outfit a heavy person can fit into. I know, I know, lighten up, it's just a show but coming from somebody who has struggled with her weight my whole life, it just gets to me. Stop eating? If it were that easy and not as tempting, I'd be thinner!! Besides, I'd still think Steven Weber was good looking and sexy even with a little 'pooch' and love handles!! :eyes:

My sister's friend's birthday is also September 11th and my cousin's is the 13th. Real tragic day to have a birthday now :crying: I was getting ready for class when I heard about it.

Yeah, I was at work during the attacks of 9/11/01. :(

As for Cord Clayton from the "Wingless" trilogy, the actor who played him went on the co-star in one of my favorite shows. He played (or plays) Byron Togler on "Andy Richter Controls the Universe."

To stay on topic, my least favorite episode, is, and I know many people seem to like this episode. "My Brother's Keeper," I can't watch that episde again it's so annoying. I also didn't like the Time Capsule episode they showed in the marathon. And since when did Casey participate in their childhood memories. I thought it was just the three friends, Joe, Brian and Helen. When Casey came on the show, all of a sudden, she used to hang out with them too.

In my opinion I would have thought Casey would be apart of it because she was a sister of Helens

Me too. It's just that before they created Casey, Joe, Brian and Helen always said it was just the three of them. They called themselves The Three Musketeers. It's no big deal, it's just something I noticed, thought I'd mention it.

I got the impression that Casey didn't hang out with them much as kids. I think they even said in one episode that Casey hung out with the Kennedy's when they were younger.

It's always funny to get perspectives from different people. I enjoyed "Brothers Keeper". Tyne Daly was great, and happened to win an emmy for that performance and Steven Weber was very funny too.

I also really enjoyed the Time Capsule episode. Even though it's just a sit-com I was honestly touched when it turned out that Helen's dream at the age of 10 was to marry Joe Hackett some day. I thought that was really well done. And the goofy stuff, like Brian as James Bond really made me laugh.

I guess if I had to pick a couple episodes I didn't care for much I would say the one when Roy tricks the gang into digging a hole for his hot tub or the Lowell episode when they go to the wax museum.

OK, the wax museum episode, I'll give you that, but the hot tub episode? I think when Roy dancing and singing to 'Buttons & Bows' is hilarious!!

I'm glad you enjoyed that episode. When I knew it was coming on that night, I thought for sure everyone would be disappointed and bash the episode the next day. I guess not everyone thinks like me.:D (Which is probably a good thing. If everyone just agreed with everyone on everything, it would be mighty boring around here.)

Quite true AdamTV! Looks like a few didn't agree with my opinion on Hot Tub Roy either (lol)......ahhhh, but that's the spice of life.

There is never any wrong or right answer to these kinds of questions.....it's just fun to see what people respond to and we all obviously like the show alot. I'd rather watch a Wings episode that I considered one of the worst of the series ANY day, then about 90% of what's offered on TV anyways.

Everyone has different opinions and it's fun to discuss thiem. I used to post at another entertainment-related site kinda like this one (TV, movies, music, etc.) and a lot of the regular posters, especially in the TV and music sections, seemed to take more of a delight in putting down other posters and telling them why their opinions were wrong than just discussing their favorite TV shows, movies, and celebrities. It was not a very fun place to post. The on-line magazine that hosted those message boards finally shut them down a few months ago. I think that overall, SitcomsOnline is a fine, friendly, on-line community. I've been a member for over two years and I love it.

I also would rather watch a bad Wings episode than watch about 95% of the garbage that's currently on network TV. With a few exceptions, I think network TV nowadays is just a vast wasteland, especially those trashy reality shows. :barf:

Not only are most TV programs nowadays a waste of time, but I've noticed that a lot of programs are recycling jokes and storylines from older sitcoms. How lame is that? Wings never did such.

Well, it looks like Snoopy and I are in the half percent of America who aren't into reality shows. I've watched a little bit of them and just don't see the fascination. My sister is pretty much addicted to TV and she watched all that and it drives me crazy. As far as the alot of the current shows, whenever I see a preview on TV for a new show and the TV station is attempting to sell the show to an audience, and all I hear are the lamest jokes. All I'm thinking is-well, there's another show I won't be watching.:( I remember seeing the comedienne Wanda Sykes on the Tonight Show a few months ago and she says they should change the name of Joe Millionaire to 'Bitches love money'!! Now I thought that was funny!!

I used to think Olive and Twist was the worst episode of the series but looking back it's pretty funny, the problem is Casey focused episodes usually with her being pathetic but that's probably why her subplots end up being excellent."A Tale of Two Sister Cities" has a very similar ending to this one, it's only because of how it drags Brian down that makes the episode weak if it was just Casey it would've worked, I did like that Brian and Casey's smarts worked well together.

If I had to choose it'd probably be episodes like the vaccum cleaner one or "Honey, We Broke the Kid" that make Joe and Helen's characters weak, the only time it was funny was the one with Roys mom.

I can pretty much watch any episode of the series. But if I were to choose episodes I'd choose any episode from the last season or from the very beginning.

Season 8 was pretty lousy overall, but I did enjoy the series finale though

One that stands out, and if it's not the worst episode, it's close, is Escape From New York from the last season. The A story about Helen entering a drag queen contest is ok, but the B story with Antonio acting like a psycho while Joe is stuck at home with a bad back is awful and totally out of character for Antonio.

OH Nuts!

I was trucking along, lapping up every episode, never imagining there would be one I didn't care for. But alas, I found the last ep in S2, "Duet For Cello And Plane", unnerving. I hated seeing Joe and Helen get into such a vicious fight. ( And poor Helen, that cello really does seem to be a bad luck charm.)

Now onward to S3!

Yes you are right they were sisters they may not be hanging out all the time surely she knew the Hackett brothers. By the way I like the time capsule my least was the one with Cord I don't like this character.
