Lynn Redgrave, an introspective and independent player in her family's acting dynasty who became a 1960s sensation as the freethinking title character of 'Georgy Girl' and later dramatized her troubled past in such one-woman stage performances 'Shakespeare for My Father' and 'Nightingale,' has died. She was 67.

Her publicist Rick Miramontez, speaking on behalf of her children, said Redgrave died Sunday night at her Manhattan apartment. In 2003, Redgrave had been treated for breast cancer.

I just read that. :( She was a great actress and from all the interviews I've seen with her, seemed like a really great woman. God bless the family...:rip:

Now I'll be thinking of that Seekers song all day long and won't get it out of my head! Then again, it's a pretty good song.

I am so sick over this. I adored Lynn. She was BY FAR my favorite Redgrave and she was so cute in Georgy Girl and House Calls. I had the pleasure of seeing her speak in the mid 80s at a NYC Aids Walk Event. I'm really going to miss her - on many levels. Besides being a kick-ass entertainer, she was a lovely human being.

Lynn Redgrave always exuded a warm, very accessible quality about her. She seemed very nice, very down-to-earth.

The chemistry she had with Wayne Rogers in House Calls was great. It was never the same once she was fired. You'll notice the show only lasted one season after her departure.

A truly tragic loss.

I always liked her too. I watched her appearances on Bill Maher's old "Politically Incorrect" show and she really seemed like a sweet, decent lady.

So very sad. I loved her in House Calls. I saw Georgy Girl a few years ago and she was great in it. She was so young and Alive. R.I.P. Lynn. :(

Poor Vanessa - she lost her daughter last year, she lost her brother last month, and now she lost her sister. That's tragic.

I didn't even know she had cancer. RIP.

She had disclosed it quite a while ago. Since there had been no news, I assumed she'd beaten it.

How could I forget? She was brilliant in the James Whale biopic- Gods and Monsters.

I had actually forgotten about Redgrave's breast cancer until this news came out.

I had actually forgotten about Redgrave's breast cancer until this news came out.

I remembered, but thought she had beaten it. She was diagnosed way back in 2003. Of course, she could have gone into remission for a while and it could've come back and spread throughout her body. That's what usually happens, unfortunately. My mom is a nurse at a Cancer center, it's really tough to get to know people and then find out that they passed away. Some even seem to be getting a lot better, it's scary. ohno:

Corin Redgrave's death got very little publicity (especially compared with his niece and sister) but he was a great actor as well. He died just last month.

I didn't hear of his passing myself until the announcement of Lynn's. This has been such a tough past year or so for the Redgrave/Richardson/Neeson families. :(

Sadly, so much death in their family - I really feel for all of them - it must be hard.

My condolences to Lynn Redgrave's (as well as her brother Corin's) family for this loss. In memory of Lynn, and as a tribute to the series, i flew to Dubai and stayed in a suite at the Rose Rotana Hotel for a few days.
