Just noticed that "Mouse-Taken Identity," which has been edited on MeTV in the past, was just shown uncensored on MeTV Toons.

The editing involved the "giant mouse" chasing Sylvester, in an Indian feather, around a Native American statue, and eventually showing himself to Sylvester Junior scalped.

"Hunkiest Man Alive" (season 6 show 10)

What's Cookin' Doc?" (Bugs - 1944 - Clampett) - A sort-of complaint from Warner at the time, due to lack of Oscars, particularly since a then-recent cartoon, Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt, had been nominated, and lost. This cartoon also has an extended scene from that film, which MeTV does not show as a separate, full cartoon.

Hare Brush (Bugs - 1955 - Freleng) - unique story from Warren Foster -- Fudd is nuts -- he thinks he's a rabbit. Bugs ends up in his place at the funny farm -- thus the comedy. Brilliant voice work by Mel Blanc.

Between the opening showing Pierre cat smoking and Fabrette contemplating suicide, the Turner networks have or had this one shelved.

Soup or Sonic (Road Runner - 1980 - Jones [co-director Phil Monroe])

Aloha Hooey (1942 - Avery, Clampett [both uncredited]) - cartoon was finished by Bob Clampett after Tex Avery left the studio. This is the 1990s Turner dubbed version, with an incorrect close.

A Wild Hare (Bugs - 1940 [reissued 1944] - Avery) - although there were a few cartoons with a prototype Bugs before this one, this is recognized as the first Bugs cartoon, where he was closest to his final form. This cartoon was reissued in 1944, losing its original opening and its technical credits; the original opening and credits have been restored. You can see a slight video shift where the rings were spliced onto the credits.

Nuts and Volts (Speedy, Sylvester - 1964 - Freleng) - this is the last cartoon Friz Freleng directed, before the Warner cartoon work was farmed out to DePatie-Freleng Enterprises for a few years.

Subsequent Porky cartoons -- and there were a lot -- would be black and white Looney Tunes for the next seven years or so.

ISTR “People Are Bunny” during either the time on WB Network or the syndicated Merrie Melodies show in 1990 where they quickly iris-out after Bugs remarks “they always shoot blanks on TV”—-rendering the ending humorless!

It must have been on WB, because from 1990-92 edits are done stupidly where still-frames cover the violence; whose bright idea was that?!

I Taw a Putty Tat (Tweety - 1948 [reissued 1956] - Freleng) - the cat is not yet named Sylvester, but here is his caricature, which was called Thomas in the previous cartoon, Tweetie Pie. Reissue alters opening and removes credits.

Naighty But Mice (Sniffles - 1939 - Jones) - for whatever reason, this was the only Sniffles cartoon that was not altered and reissued; therefore it survives with its original title and credits. Two or three others have been restored to original form. This is probably the best Sniffles film, with the animated razor that saves the inebriated mouse from a cat.

Foxy By Proxy (Bugs - 1952 - Freleng) - this cartoon's opening scene is lifted directly from Of Fox and Hounds. Much of the story is also the same (using Bugs instead of a fox) as Dave Monahan's 1940 cartoon, as adapted by Warren Foster.

Knighty Knight Bugs (1958 - Freleng) - a pretty routine Bugs cartoon won an Oscar. I've read this was more to honor Friz Freleng himself than the cartoon. The part where Bugs swats Sam with a mallet as he hangs onto a rope, has been censored by other networks in the past.

Now Hear This (1963 - Jones [co-direction Maurice Noble]) - one of a few cartoons (along with two others) that have a unique "Big Ben" close. Last-released Chuck Jones cartoon that was produced by Warners. Oscar-nominated.

Robin Hoody Woody (1963 - Smith)

I Was A Teenage Thumb (1963 - Jones [co-director Maurice Noble]) - has had some language censorship ("Morty, you blankety-blank") in the past; uncensored on the MeTV networks.

Second reissue was a straight reissue of the first reissue. The original cartoon is in circulation overseas. Note that this is the original Road Runner cartoon; the characters were slightly refined over the years but remained essentially the same.

Super Rabbit (Bugs - 1943 - Jones) - ending makes it obvious this is a wartime cartoon

Porky's Poultry Plant (1936 - Tashlin) - on-screen director credit is Frank Tash. First director assignment for Tashlin; also first musical score for Carl Stalling. Early Porky; he's significantly larger than in the future.

Hare Brush (Bugs - 1955 - Freleng) - Some excellent examples of Mel Blanc's voice work in this one. Uncensored, including "Fruitcake Sanitarium" sign. ABC censored this and a few other small items in the past.

Merlin the Magic Mouse (1967 - Lovy) - voices by Daws Butler, which explains why "Second Banana" sounds like other characters of the era, such as Elroy Jetson.

Snow Place Like Home (Popeye - 1948 - Kneitel) - a Toon In with Me debut on the original 2025 airing, aired uncensored with the "Product of its Time" disclaimer

The Tenant's Racket (Woody - 1963 - Marcus) - another debut on Toon In with Me, on the original 2025 airing

C0ck-A-Doodle Duel (Foghorn Leghorn - 2004 - Shin)

(originally aired Tue. Feb. 18, 2025)

The Wacky Wabbit (Bugs - 1942 - Clampett) - one of a few cartoons from this era with so-called "fat Elmer," modeled after his voice actor, Arthur Q. Bryan. Bugs acts as an aggressor in this one; in most outings, he is provoked before acting. A public domain cartoon; the owner in 1970, United Artists, failed to renew the copyright.

Practical Yolk (Woody - 1966 - Smith)

Matinée Idol Popeye (1960 - Deitch) - one of a few Popeyes from the King Features era in the public domain, due to a Roman numeral error in the copyright date (MCMXL, 1940).

Sahara Hare (Bugs - 1955 - Freleng) - first use of Milt Franklyn's rendition of the Looney Tunes intro music. With "Riff Raff Sam," evidently the desert version of Yosemite Sam. Lots of common Freleng gags in his one.

Porky the Wrestler (1937 - Avery)

Quick Clips - scenes from "Fresh Fish" (1939)

Rabbit Seasoning (Bugs - 1952 - Jones) - second "hunting trilogy" cartoon, of three. In Jerry Beck's 1994 book on the 50 greatest cartoons of all time, this one is at number 30.

For Scent-imental Reasons (Pepé Le Pew - 1949 [reissued 1957] - Jones) - won the Academy Award in 1949, for best animated short. An example of a short commonly available in original-opening form--it should have been fully restored by Warners, but hasn't been. Like all reissues between 1956 and 1959, the original close [in this case, Looney Tunes] was retained.

Fishing By the Sea (Heckle & Jeckle - 1947 - Rasinski) - another first-time showing on Toon In with Me

That's My Pup! (Tom and Jerry - 1953 - Hanna, Barbera)

Truant Student (1959 - Smith)

The Screwy Truant (Screwy Squirrel - 1945 - Avery) - in true Tex Avery fashion, Screwy stops the action when "Wolfie" shows up (chasing Red), and Screwy advises him he's in the wrong cartoon. To prove it, he pulls down the titles and credits again.

The Turn-Tale Wolf (1952 - McKimson) - one of only a few Warner cartoons from the early 50s that wasn't reissued. Big Bad and his big moonshine still near the beginning are shown uncensored here (but had plenty of editing-out in the past). The nephew is a wolf version of Sylvester Jr.

Yankee Doodle Bugs (1954 - Freleng) - one never knows whether this will be censored on MeTV...or not. Today's showing...not. Shown complete, with the Indian gags near the beginning.
