Like the other big budget movies Costner made in the 90's in the theater (Wyatt Earp, WaterWorld), it started out with alot of commotions and promotions, but it died down pretty quickly and forgotten. Those movies were accused of being big budget long, messy, bloated and joyless films. Especially the movie WaterWorld which was struggling at the Box Office to recover its bloated budget.
