View Full Version : Six Degrees of Lucy - Part 2
dawsongirl 11-06-2002, 09:23 PM Back by popular demand ;)
This time I'll open it to any ILL cast member
Link one of them to someone else in six steps.
I'm trying one....but I'm not there yet. :)
SPLAIN 11-07-2002, 10:42 AM That's difficult to do, only someone like you who eats sleeps and lives in that era will get that. I want to play my way too where you take an obscure name like Johnny Depp that you figure can't possibly be connected to Lucy, and you get him to her in six or less steps. I look at my movie collection and i get one in five minutes. It is possible to connect Lucy to practically anyone in show biz my way!
dawsongirl 11-07-2002, 06:44 PM You can connect Lucy, Desi, Viv, Bill, etc. to anyone in Hollywood, dead/alive, current/retired.
SPLAIN 11-08-2002, 10:29 AM I will work on it this weekend and come up with at least five for Monday!
dlemond 11-08-2002, 01:36 PM I can connect William Frawley to Johnny Depp in 3 steps.
1. William Frawley was in Miracle on 34th St. with Natalie Wood.
2. Natalie Wood was in Brainstorm with Christopher Walken
3. Christopher Walken was in Nick of Time (and Sleepy Hollow) with Johnny Depp.
And there you have it
SPLAIN 11-08-2002, 01:53 PM Very good! Three, wow, that's impressive! How about Jim Carey?
dlemond 11-08-2002, 02:25 PM OK.
1. William Frawley was in Lady on a Train with Ralph Bellamy
2. Ralph Bellamy was in Pretty Woman with Amy Yasbeck (you may remember her from "Wings" she played Casey)
3. Amy Yasbeck was in The Mask with Jim Carrey
Can't believe that only took 3.
dawsongirl 11-08-2002, 03:05 PM Impressive! You oughta try someone from WKRP.
SPLAIN 11-08-2002, 03:28 PM Geez, is this person a ringer, or what? That's unbelievable! The point is to get somebody you figure can't possibly be connected to Lucy, and yet this person does it in three. Tobey McGuire?
Mickey 11-08-2002, 04:25 PM I can do that one (though not in three!)
Tobey McGuire, via Spiderman, takes us to Sam Raimi
Sam Raimi, obviously, leads us to Bruce Campbell
Bruce Campbell, through McHale's Navy, takes us to Dean Stockwell
Dean Stockwell, through Abbot And Costello in Hollywood, takes us to Lucy.
There may be other routes.
CHUCK T 11-08-2002, 09:53 PM Vivian Vance to Cameron Diaz in three steps.
1) Viv was in "The Secret Fury" with Claudette Colbert
2) Claudette Colbert was in "The Two Mrs. Grenvilles" with Ann-Margaret
3) Ann-Margaret was in "Any Given Sunday" with Cameron Diaz.

I'll use Natalie Wood as a route again but with a different movie:
1. William Frawley was in Chicken Every Sunday with Natalie Wood
2. Natalie Wood was in Peeper with Michael Caine
3. Michael Caine was in The Cider House Rules with Tobey Maguire
CHUCK T 11-08-2002, 10:39 PM Dawsongirl mentioned trying someone from WKRP--so I'll try
William Frawley to Loni Anderson.
1) William Frawley was in "East side West Side" with Barbara Stanwyck
2) Barbara Stanwyck was in "Roustabout" with Raquel Welch (in a bit part)
3) Raquel Welch was in "Fuzz" with Burt Reynolds
4) Burt Reynolds was in "Stoker Ace" with Loni Anderson.
dawsongirl 11-08-2002, 11:21 PM Wow...you guys are good!
dlemond 11-08-2002, 11:52 PM How about Frank Bonner aka "Herb Tarlek" on WKRP:
1. William Frawley was in Pretty Baby (and Miracle on 34th St.) with Edmund Gwenn
2. Edmund Gwenn was in Lassie Come Home with Roddy McDowell
3. Roddy McDowell was in Going Under with Frank Bonner
dlemond 11-09-2002, 12:42 AM 3 steps for Tim Reid aka "Venus Flytrap" on WKRP
1. William Frawley was in Alibi Ike with Olivia de Havilland
2. Olivia de Havilland was in The Proud Rebel with Harry Dean Stanton
3. Harry Dean Stanton was in The Fourth War with Tim Reid
Oh, just to edit this- I looked and there is a way to cheat besides looking it up yourself. A connection engine.
Funny thing is they didn't use the same connections I did- but they got Tobey Maguire in 2 steps.
SPLAIN 11-11-2002, 11:35 AM Well, there's no point in me playing, i can't compete with these pros, so i'll keep asking for some, Halle Berry to Lucy, Denzel Washington to Lucy, lasy year's Oscar winners!
Mickey 11-11-2002, 12:04 PM This one might be cheating a bit, but Denzel did "The Preacher's Wife" which was a remake of "The Bishop's Wife", which involved half a dozen people who worked with Lucy.
Halle Berry did "The X-Men", which co-starred Brice Davison (great actor, why don't we see more of him?), who did "Mame" with Lucy in about 1974.
Mickey 11-11-2002, 04:06 PM Meant Bruce Davison of course. Fingers aren't where they're supposed to be today. :)
SPLAIN 11-11-2002, 04:32 PM Yes, well, join the club, i can't type for shoot today, see what i mean! Seriously though, you are too good at this game Halle to Lucy in two, unreal! Colin Farrell? Whitney Houston?
Mickey 11-12-2002, 05:23 AM Well Whitney Houston was also in "The Preacher's Wife", so that's not difficult.
Colin Farrell...
... did "American Outlaws" with Kathy Bates, who did "Straight Time" with Harry Dean Stanton, who was in "The Lucy Show", and "The Lucy And Desi Comedy Hour", and one or two other things.
SPLAIN 11-12-2002, 02:41 PM HARRY DEAN STANTON was in some Lucy shows! I give up! You and i are in different classes! I bow to the MASTER!
