What happened to one of the most iconic sitcoms of the 1980s? ALF (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125335/http://www.jumptheshark.com/a/alf.htm) was a ratings juggernaut, a merchandising machine, and a household name — until it suddenly wasn’t.

In this deep dive into the history of ALF (http://www.tellytalk.net/threads/alf-tv-series.10318/), we explore the rise and fall of the classic NBC series that turned a sarcastic alien into a prime time superstar. From chaotic behind-the-scenes issues to canceled reboots and forgotten spinoffs, the full story of ALF (https://www.alftv.com/community/) is more bizarre than you remember.

We’re talking about everything — the original ALF (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406110024/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3128539-hey-willie-alf/?view=getnewpost) TV show, its unexpected cancellation, the strange TV movie follow-up, the animated series, and even that brief ALF (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/ALF) reboot that never made it to air. If you're into classic sitcoms, retro TV history, and the rise and fall of 1980s television, this one's for you.

Alf was a good show but as the seasons went on the show lost its juice. When they toned down Alf the show was not as good. I also think Alf was like Mork and Mindy. Living with a space alien is a good premise for a show but its not durable for many seasons. Like Mork and Mindy, the novelty wore off after 2 seasons.
Its a shame Alf got cancelled without a proper ending and send off with Alf successfully returning to his planet.
