In my eyes they should've kept Anson Mount on at Star Trek Discovery because this show was an introduction to Captain Christopher Pike but I think Anson Mount took the easy way out and they offered him the lead in Star Trek Strange New Worlds as a way to give the character Christopher Pike his very own show. Because as I mentioned Anson left Star Trek Discovery because of money and so when he got offered Star Trek Strange New Worlds Anson Mount couldn't be more happier
