Well, here I go again, going to see Lisa down in Portland on Sunday. I hope she likes the banner I made, showing cartoons from her RV adventures. I guess I'm kinda nervous about the whole deal... Anything anyone want me to tell her??

I'm gonna see if she used a special username on here when she was on....We probably wouldn't believe her if she WAS on...It's kinda like Jesus...God infiltrating humanity without us knowing it...

Now am I comparing Lisa to Jesus?? Welllllll DUUUUUUHHHHHH, OF COURSE I am!!!!:rolleyes: :lol: Just kidding.

Tell her I said hey and tell her that everybody wishes she would stop by the boards. I won't even bother about if she's coming to my town. Nobody ever comes to my town.

She's gonna be in my state twice, so I hope I get to meet her. I think in October she'll be in Huntington & that's when I'll try to go. Well, have fun meeting her. Blair's My Cherry PIe, how many times have you gone to see her now?

So how did your weekend go???

So now that I've kept everyone in suspense, I'll tell you all about it, but I might have to break it up a few times because as many times as I tried to tell it, there was something wrong with the computer that wouldn't allow me to send it. So sit back, grab some Screaming Yellow Zonkers and hear my fun story!!!!
So I got down to Portland on Greyhound on Sunday afternoon, and spent the day travelling up to Beaverton where she would be speaking at the Foursquare Church up there. It was hot and I was tired and thirsty, and I took several buses to get up there. I finally got up there at 4PM which gave me plenty of time to stress before 6. I went up to the pastor and told him that I had a banner that I had made for her that I was interested in displaying, if it wasn't too much trouble. He said he thought it was a great idea, but that I should have contacted them sooner, because it too late to put it up....:( So I sat around and some time after that, I saw Steve come in and begin setting up books on the table. I was nervous and depressed--I always get like this when I see her, because I feel so worthless...:( So soon church began and the youth choir began singing a very beautiful uplifting set of songs, but my heart wasn't into it. Soon Lisa got up and began to speak about her life, her marriage, her trials, etc. and I felt so much better even after hearing it many times, it always felt like a fresh new perspective each time. I was in tears by the time she had finished.:crying:

So then everyone went out to get stuff signed by her and I bought a photo that I wanted her to sign for someone, and I finally got my chance to say hi again, but since there were so many people in line, I couldn't say much. So I went back and bought her Drive-Time Devotional CD and had her sign that. But I felt like I wanted to do or say something that would really be special...what about my banner?? Naaaaaaah, she wouldn't be interested in that, it would be a big burden, a waste of time, totally inappropriate to land my silly pet project on her, after all if the church didn't have time for it, why would she...:( So I just better go, it's getting late and people are leaving.

I better show her my banner.

So I took my banner up to her and told her that I wanted to put it up but didn't have time, so would she be interested in seeing it?
She was very interested and so I showed her all the cartoon pictures of her RV trip, which she thought was a lot of fun!! She said that I was very talented--and that was great to hear from her!!!! That really made my whole day. :blush:

So we unrolled it and held it up together to look at the following:

1. Steve with bar of soap in his mouth about to cuss out Bay Area traffic;
2. Clancy gasping at the "skinny-dipping hippie" in Oregon who shouts "Durn Meddlin' Kids!!" as Tucker steals his clothes:lol: ;
3. Lisa bowing before Seattle's Space Needle with the top shaped like a Starbuck's coffee cup ("Holy Grounds") as she cries out, "We're not worthy!! We're not worthy!!":notworthy
4. "The Creature From the Black Lagoon";
5. Yogi Bear and Boo Boo stealing their "pick-a-nick" baskets in "Jellystone Park";
6. Haven's face on Mt. Rushmore;
7. Tucker about to hurl from junk food on a nightmare roller coaster ride at the Minnesota State Fair;
8. Lisa on a box of Kellogg's Corn Flakes;
9. The World's Largest Ball of Twine (obviously for the World's Largest Cat);
10. Scenes from filming the Facts of Life Reunion Movie with Blair, Mrs. G., Natalie and Dorothy (she especially loved this one!!);
11. Steve noticing her breakfast consisting of pickles in orange sorbet--"just the kind of thing you ate when you were p........PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!":eek2: Tucker gags on his milk, Haven cheers, and Clancy cries, "WAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! IIIIIIIIII'M THE BABYYYYYYY!!!!!!" and everyone chills out when she says "false alarm...!"
12. Tucker plays his first electric guitar--he sings "Come On Feel the Noize" by Quiet Riot at the top of his lungs while his dad and sisters cringe and cover their ears, and mom gushes with pride,
"My son the musical prodigy!!!":loveya: :blush: :heart: :eyes: :guitar:

Some more fun parts of the banner--I know, it's all visual, so you should have seen it to get a better idea:

13: Clancy gasping with terror as Mom and Dad read a Christian book on sex for kids to her;
14: While Lisa and Steve eat Ben and Jerry's ice cream on a farm in Vermont, the kids come up with bundles of kittens in their arms and whine, "Mom, dad, can we have a kitten PLEEEEEEEEAAAASE?????"
15: I also included Haven's entire letter to President Bush on 9/11.
Lisa said I remembered a whole lot of things that she forgot, and that she was going to take it home and have her kids look over it.
I told her that I got the idea from doing banners at parties at work and thought this would be great to do one for her!! So she took it with her and I felt so much better for doing my gift for her.

Oh yeah, forgot some thingies: Actually when I drew her kids begging for a kitten on the farm in Vermont, I actually had them saying, "Can we have a kitty, PLEEEEEEEAAAAAASE????" (Not "kitten," 'cause it sounds cuter when they say kitty.)

OH YEAAAAAAAHHHHH, another big thing I forgot to mention here:
I showed her the picture of the lady giving her a fender-bender and Lisa comes out in curlers and the lady is gasping, "OMG!!!! I RAN INTO BLAIR!!!!):eek:Lisa said she DEFINITELY remembered that!!!!:lol:

There was so much stuff I put on the banner!!!!

She also wishes to say hi to Dannielle in Texas and to all of you on the site!!!!:D

Okay, she also says hi to Elizabeth in Illinois, and to Georgia's On My Mind she says she'll try to make it to Rhode Island or Mass. when she can, and to everyone she says when she has off-time she'll visit us when she's able, currently she's hard at work trying to meet her deadline for her homeschooling book (but I didn't yell at her for not coming on before...).
AAAAAAANNNNNNNNDDDDDDD........SHE DEFINITELY WANTS TO SAY HI TO KARLI AND ELIZABETH BECAUSE SHE REMEMBERS YOU VERRRRRRY WELL WHEN I TOLD HER!!!!!! She got REEEEAAALLY
excited when I mentioned you two!!!!!
:eek: :D It was like "Ohhhh yeahhhhh, Karli and Elizabeth!!!!!"

That would be SOOOOOOOOO cool if she did put it in her journal,
maybe her kids would have to beg and raise hell to get it in!!!!
And what I mentioned to her was only PART of the banner, there was lots more!! She's just gonna have to get that camera and show pictures of it!!!!!:D
