RIP :(

FT. LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) -- A Canadian radio station on Sunday evening reported that actor Leslie Nielsen has died at a hospital in Florida. He was 84.
Doug Nielsen, his nephew, told CJOB talk radio station in Canada that the actor passed away at a hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The Canadian actor had been hospitalized for nearly two weeks as a result of pneumonia.

"Just in this last 48 hours, the infection has gotten too much and today at 5.30, with his friends and his wife by his side, he just fell asleep and passed away," Doug told the radio station.

What's kind of creepy here is that they really did come in threes. Mr. Nielsen is the third Airplane! star to pass away this year!!! Peter Graves passed on in March, Barbara Billingsley in October and now Leslie Nielsen. :rip:

:rip: Leslie Nielson. He will surely be remembered as an excellent dramatic actor at the beginning of his career. And he was surely one of the the world's most talented comic actors at the end of his career. But please don't call him Shirley!

Oh, no... Leslie has always been one of my favorite comedic actors and I loved him in the Naked Gun series. Plus, he also played Lucas in the series finale of The Golden Girls... his wonderful sense of humor will certainly be missed... :(

And do you remember the 1956 science-fiction film "Forbidden Planet"?Leslie Nielsen was in THAT.Oh,by the way,how did he feel about working with O.J.Simpson,in "The Naked Gun 21/2:The Smell of Fear"?

Leslie Nielsen will definitely be missed ,not only for his comedy, but drama as well.As I a said,he did a LOT of dramatic TV shows during the 1950's,1960's and 1970'sHe was an all-purpose actor, who could do both drama and comedy.Remember the 1987 movie drama "Nuts",with Barbra Streisand? He was in that, and I think it was his LAST drama movie, before he went all comedy.

I truly hope that's sarcasm and I'm just not detecting it. The youngest of the three actors who passed away this year was Peter Graves. He was 83. Leslie Nielsen was 84, and Barbara Billingsley was in her nineties.

None of them were youngsters, for sure. I just think it's creepy how close together these passings were, that they all happened within the span of less than a year.   But then, that's just my take.

Weird for sure, but just a coincidence. Ethel Merman died in 1984. Steven Stucker died in 1986. Lloyd Bridges died in 1998 and Robert Stack in 2003. Years apart, and all elderly, with the exception of Stucker.

No word yet on the whereabouts of Otto.

And,in the 1950's,1960's,and 1970's TV dramas he did,and the movies he did during that time,he had jet-black hair, and was a good-looking guy even back then.
