December 15, 2023
Mayim Bialik will no longer be part of the Jeopardy! hosting team. She posted the news on Instagram on Friday.
Ken Jennings has been hosting Season 40 of the syndicated show by himself and will now continue to do so.
“As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news. Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy! I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! family.
For all of you who have supported me through this incredible journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff and crew of America’s Favorite Quiz Show, thank you.”

howilu 12-16-2023, 11:33 AM To some of the naysayers about Mayim Bialik, I thought she was the right fit for the show. She's very bright and personable and had great rapport with the contestants. But when she left in solidarity of the actor's strike, that was the downfall as Ken Jennings got more airtime. He has grown into the hosting role that Alex Trebek held for 38 years.
James28 12-18-2023, 05:56 PM I'm guessing Mayim Bialik will have to give up Primetime Celebrity Jeopardy! too because Ken Jennings took over for her this season on that one after Ms. Bialik chose to walk out.
Plus, should we still have had a better choice for a permanent, long-term Jeopardy! host than Ken Jennings?

Only if he takes his daily dose of Red Bull.
How about Joey Lauren Adams? I heard she has a great voice for Jeopardy!.

Yes! Joey Lauren Adams would make a future Jeopardy announcer and paired well with Host Ken Jennings. But On the other hand, Johnny Gilbert is still announcing in his record setting 40th Syndicated Season.

JamesG 12-26-2023, 09:14 PM Ken Jennings on Mayim Bialik’s "Jeopardy!" Exit: “It Took Me Off Guard”
by Denise Petski

Ken Jennings is sharing his thoughts on Mayim Bialik‘s exit as host of "Jeopardy!". The two had been sharing hosting duties on the syndicated show and its primetime specials.
Jennings now will take over as sole host of the syndicated game show after Bialik announced on December 15 that she would not be returning.
“It took me off guard, because I loved working with Mayim and I’m gonna miss her,” Jennings told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Tuesday.
“I can’t speak to her decision-making process or her opinions about it. But on my end, I’m just a fan of Jeopardy! and I’m always delighted to host when they call upon me. I just feel extremely lucky to have even been considered for this job as a non-broadcaster.”

Frank Gannucci 12-27-2023, 12:07 AM It should’ve been only one host on the syndicated show to begin with. A host is the life and blood of the show. Having two hosts rotate is a big mistake.
MRPITT 12-27-2023, 11:02 AM I didn’t think Mayim was any good and I think Ken Jennings is even worse. Can’t stand him.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I meant to state "Joey Lauren Adams has a great voice for hosting Jeopardy!.", I didn't say anything about announcing for Jeopardy!.
Coffeecup 01-02-2024, 12:51 PM Being an oldster who is Joey Lauren Adams?? . With the name Joey thought to be a man but with Lauren could be a female.
JamesG 02-11-2024, 06:46 AM "Jeopardy!" EP on Why Mayim Bialik was Fired & How They “Hope to Continue Working with Her”
by Armando Tinoco
February 10, 2024
Michael Davies, "Jeopardy!" EP, is opening up about Mayim Bialik‘s departure from the game show after she announced it in December.
Speaking to reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Saturday, Davies said that when he “took over the show, we were forced into that situation from everything that had happened before, the guest hosting period.”
“Mayim was left hosting the primetime versions. I brought in Ken [Jennings] to guest host because Mayim had her schedule, her Fox sitcom [Call Me Kat], so couldn’t host all the episodes,” he said.
“Over the past two and a half seasons, what we’ve heard a lot from our television stations and other interested parties is they were looking for more consistency. They wanted a single host,” he continued. “Mayim is a superb host on Jeopardy! We hope to continue working with her on primetime versions [and] other spinoffs of the show. Those conversations are ongoing, but Ken has really won the job.”
Davies also noted that when he started thinking about the show “long-term,” he believed that the syndicated version of the show “was always going to be better with a single host,” and the primetime specials could have other hosts.

Jeopardy's Ken Jennings slams "misogynistic" criticism of Mayim Bialik (https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/tv/2024/02/23/ken-jennings-talks-tournament-of-champions-return-mayim-bialik/72571591007/)
It's kind of been done, and I do feel like some of the criticism that Mayim got was clearly misogynistic. It was people who were not there to see a woman host Jeopardy! and whether they understood that about their soul or not, they were not ready to accept a woman in that position of authority."
