Well I cant say she was the most interesting character but she did kind of add a nice opposite to Jamie. I take it you did not like her? LOL Well we honor all types opinions here but in the future could you not use profanity and sexist slurs here? I'm no prude but it really has no place on this message board.

Thanks for saying that, Brendon. We don't need any curse words or nasty stuff on here. I didn't like Sarah either, but I'm not gonna go that far. I just think that she was too smart and you know save the worldish instead of having a good time. At least Douglas from The pembroke season liked to have fun, and the stuff about science he talked about was actually funny.

Thanks for the reply Jill. Yes I think Sarah was far too whiny. Like you said, Douglas was weird but fun. I think maybe the producers were trying to change the format of the old show but keep the characters mostly the same. I mean they swapped one girl and two boys for two girls and one boy but the characters were pretty much the same, or at least tried to be. Lila was Jamie, popular and peppy, Sarah was Douglas, smart and strange, and Adam was Jason, precocious and wisecracking. It just proves that characters are not just created by producers but btought to life by the actors that play them becuase even though the CIC producers TRIED to mimic the old kids it just was not the same in the end.

I too agree with doing away with the profanity. It's not necessary. Anyway I saw not problem with Sarah. Besides, in the last 2 seasons of the show I thought she got better. She found more confidence in herself. I liked Douglas it just seemed to me he acted like he was ******** at times. It was just funny but he's alright too.

The fact that no one else on this board wants to use profanity does not make them weird. They just make sense. If there are critisims, throw them towards the show and NOT TO EACH OTHER! THANK YOU!

Well, I hang around college students all day long and I hear everything but clean words coming out of their mouths, so to frequent a BBoard with no profanity is a rather nice change once in awhile!!! It also has no place on a BBoard about a family-type show where, as another put it, younger viewers may see it.

As to the original content of the post, I personally think that Sarah was a lot prettier than Jamie and I have always liked her better. Jamie was just a selfish, shallow, blonde who cared for nothing or nobody other than herself. True, it is hard to believe that there are kids like Sarah nowadays and her poetry and "all for the good in things" attitude was sometimes hard to take, but she was a total opposite of Jamie and I think that's what the producers wanted. If the kids were all the same, then the show would definitely lose a certain spark of conflict that arises. As Charles said in the first episode, "I have to save Sarah from Jamie. I have to save Jamie from Jamie!"

Remember, it's just a show man.

Sarah has to be one of my favorites too. I did not like Jaimee. She was alright sometimes. Nichole Eggert played that "love to hate" character well. She is a good actress to me. There are girls out there like Jaimee.

I see her in the same light as I see Lisa Simpson now. It's all about contrast.
Would Jamie be a better character if Sarah didn't exsist? I personaly don't think so.

Absolutely right, Groo. THe contrast between the two was the main impetus for the character. Let's face it, it is the infighting between Jamie and Sarah that gets most of the attention amongst the kids. Adam was just there to add cuteness and annoyance. But the real struggle was Jamie and Sarah. Two teen girls with a guy looking out for them! WHat a hoot!

As to Josie Davis nowadays, absolutely hot!!! She was on the prime time soap, Titans, on NBC, but it just got cancelled. So, who knows where she'll land?

Hopefully, she will land soon and we can keep on seeing her.

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read! Nicole Eggert is a one of a kind KNOCK-OUT! She was the most gorgeous teenage girl in the entire world, and she looks even better now.

Josie Davis (that's her name; not Sarah) was the girl everyone felt sorry for. She was so homely looking and dull. In People magazine, she revealed that she never wanted to leave her home because people on the street would say "Hey, that's the ugly girl from Charles in Charge." And now, even though she actually wears makeup, she still has a weird complexion about her. Nicole Eggert has natural beauty, meaning that no makeup is required. Can't say the same for Josie . . .

Josie looks real good now. She's a knockout. To me she was never ugly. There was nothing ugly about her. Why would people say that?

Well, if any of the aforementioned post was directed at me, I want to say that I have never said that Nicole Eggert was ugly or not attractive. Of course she's beautiful !!! But, that goes without saying. She is the cute, pretty, hot character of the show. There's no denying that. Those of us who are arguing that Josie Davis was also very cute and interesting in her own right just want to say that she has some fantastic qualities to her appearance as well. We are not caught in the same old sterotypical thinking as to "I gotta love the hot blonde chick because she is hot and blonde!" It takes a little more digging beneath the surface to like a girl like Josie Davis' character.

And to say that she is still sort of strange looking even today is totally a matter of personal opinion, one in which I do not share. I think she is beautiful nowadays.

But in the end, it's all a matter of personal opinion. You have yours and I have mine. I don't think there's any need to get into an insult match over these actresses as to who is the prettiest, etc.

Absolutely right. I didn't intend to insult anyone personally. I was merely defending Nicole like you guys defend Josie. And, as a matter of fact, I prefer the type of girl Sarah was over the type of girl Jamie was. I've just been under the impression that everyone here is making a comparison between Josie Davis and Nicole Eggert. Sorry if I misunderstood you.

How Nicole looked off camera was no doubt different than she looked on camera. Which is why we shouldn't use their real names when compairing the characters, and judging the characters.

yup, I'm going to have to pick the bone with you. I hardly think that it was Josie Davis who caused the current show she was on to take a dive in the ratings. The fact is, it was just a cheesy nighttime soap ala Falcon Crest or something like that. I hardly fault her for the show's demise.

As to careers, at least Josie was in something recently, where has Nicole been? She got badly injured in an accident several years ago and she now has two children from what I read.

Did everybody see Nicole on The List a few months ago? She hardly looked glamorous, no makeup, her hair was kind of 'stringy'. She's still very attractive don't get me wrong - just more like a mother figure rather than the 'babe' figure from her Baywatch days..

I don't think she has given up acting either, she is just taking off time to raise her two children and would jump if she received the right offer for another tv series or movie..

Regarding the character Sarah,she is the smart and sensitive teen. similar to John Ritters middle daughter Kerry in the show 8 simple rules. Regarding Lisa Simpson- Both were very idealistic.
I like the episode when Sarah got arrested for Protesting at her fathers navy ship. It would be like Lisa Simpson protesting the Nuclear Power Plant. Sarah would be like the person reading poetry at the club and going the local public interest research group.

I cannnot believe some of what I've just read in this post. It is unbelievable. Where is the logic in arguing over who was better looking, Nicole Eggert or Josie Davis? I always thought that Josie Davis was better looking than Nicole Eggert. Many people believe that Niicole Eggert was better looking. However, this is all just a matter of personal opinion. If you think that Josie was better looking I think that is great, but if you thought Nicole was better looking than that is fine too. Everyone is entitiled to their own opinion. Why can't we leave it at that? I'm shocked to learn that Josie was afraid to go out doors because people would call her ugly. I never knew that. This just goes to show that Americans hold to much importance in physical beauty where as they should pay attention a little more to what is on the inside. That is what I always loved about Sarah as a character. She was sweet and intelligent and cared about helping other people and making the world a better place. I lalways found that made her a very attractive character on both the inside and the outside. For my tastes, Jamie was always a little bit tio shalow and too much like the girls I knew at school. I also don't think that Jamie was a very good replacement for Lila, who was a much deeper and layered character. However, as much as I loved the Pembrokes, I've always perfered Sarah over Douglas. But of course this is just all my opinion and it doesnt mean anything more than that.
