Swimfan85 08-24-2002, 11:12 PM I havent played hockey in a few weeks so I am bruise free...until monday but yah skyforge 08-24-2002, 11:38 PM A stone bruise is a painful contusion (bruise) on the heel or ball of the foot caused by direct trauma such as repeated pounding on a hard surface, a faulty spike or cleat, stepping on an object, or even a wrinkle in an athlete's sock. I've never had one and it's things like this that make me glad I took up cycling instead of running. Road rash seems mild by comparison.
