As long as we're talking classic TV I'll quote Roger Addison, "Wilbur you're a nice fellow, but when get around that horse", that's kind of the way I feel about METV, I love METV but those articles on their website.....

The headline "Donna Douglas wanted to play Ingrid Bergman type-roles", four paragraphs into the article the reader becomes aware of the source material for the headline, a 1961 interview in the New York Daily News, the article was written prior to her role on The Beverly Hillbillies! Based on the information in the article, who knows what Douglas wanted after the series ended, I always had the impression she was very satisfied with her career. The staff writer's take on the career of Donna Douglas is bizarre, "Donna Douglas was more than just the pretty face of The Beverly Hillbillies, and deserves to be remembered as such", who is remembering her as "just a pretty face", this is a conclusion the writer is jumping to without any evidence.

They didn't even let her speak her own lines in her Twilight Zone episode.
I agree with Duster she seemed to be pleased with what she accomplished in her career.
Not everyone gets to be heavy hitters.
