A lot of movies, were written off by critics and audiences (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BoxOfficeBomb) at the time, but were later re-evaluated (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VindicatedByHistory/LiveActionFilms), or at least found a cult (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_film) audience.
But what about movies that were reviewed well, but were re-evaluated (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CondemnedByHistory) so significantly that they're almost forgotten (https://thedissolve.com/features/forgotbusters/)?
And if so, was it because they always polarizing, with critics seeing something that audiences never did? Or did they succumb to narratives on social media and reevaluations from new audiences who never saw them in theaters?
