There is a Chinese Spy Balloon Flying around the US why have I not Heard The Military Shot It Down?

I heard yesterday they're afraid of falling debris accidents.

Maybe they are concerned that it contains "super covid" pathogens?

I believe that recovering the balloon's payload is more important than shooting it down.
