View Full Version : Who are the victims you felt suffered the worst prior to their death?
Clockwork 01-17-2023, 05:46 PM Watching the UM episodes always makes me wonder what happens when the blanks got filled in. What were the final moments/days like of people who died? Who would have been in the scariest position prior to their death? The ones who didn't see it coming don't apply here obviously. Here are a few.
For me the three men who died - or were presumed to have died - off the Casie Nicole. Nathan Neesmith survived, but he barely survived. He was found adrift and he hadn't had water for 4 days. That would have been the most hopeless 4 days I think a person could ever have. But since we assume the other three men perished, I can't imagine their last days being anything but terrifying. Imagine not knowing whether or not a big fish was going to take a bite out of you. Or if or when you'd die of thirst or just drown if the raft you are on doesn't hold up. Or seeing both of your buddies die in the middle of the night in the middle of the ocean and knowing you are right behind them.
Sherry Eyerly comes to mind as well. She takes a shift she wasn't supposed to take. She delivers pizzas to a location that she can't find in a remote area. She's 18, it's night time, and then she sees the culprit come and get her and struggle with her with no one in sight.
If the culprits who admitted to telling the police that they were the ones who killed Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman it sounds like they had a horrific final few days. Just a classic case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time for Lauria especially. Then seeing men shoot your parents and then burn down your home. And then they still kidnap you and rape you over and over until they kill you.

Lisa Kimmel, from what I have read, should also be added to this sad list. So should Dan Short; Joan, Michelle and Christe Rogers; and Lynn Amos - especially if they were awake and alert as the horrible crimes against them took place.
sharonite 01-17-2023, 06:52 PM Jeremy Bright, if the story about him dying slowly from an untreated gunshot wound is true.

To imagine what Lisa Marie Kimmell had to endure is terrifying. Tied up to a mattress in a creepy van and raped repeatedly for nearly an entire week. On the evening of the sixth day, Dale Eaton dressed her up in socks and panties and drove her 70 miles away to the Old Government Bridge. He struck her on the head with a lead pipe where she was then unconscious. He then proceeded to stab her with a large knife 6 times in her vital organs, then dumped her body in the shallow waters over the bridge.
How does one even begin to wrap their heads around that kind of evil?
Mike82 01-18-2023, 04:03 PM Dave Bocks: let's just hope he was unconscious or already deceased when lowered into that furnace.

You know the ironic thing is that we all know they suffered a horrific last day or so of their life. And especially being the last one to be taken advantage of and then tied up and thrown in the ocean would be horrifying. So that is just pure torture. And yet on the flip side I am sure they had a blast the last week of their life in Florida. They were at Disney World (which was just the Magic Kingdom and Epcot at that time), Kennedy Space Centre, I can't remember if it was Sea World or somewhere like that as well. Anyway, fun, fun stuff. Memorable stuff. And then a horrific finish.

As a kid when I watched this segment, Stack's description of what happened to them was obviously very horrible. But it wasn't until years later when this was featured on 'On the Case with Paula Zahn' did I really start to think about how truly horrific this all was in detail. Under the night sky, out in the bay where you can't escape or scream for help...what order did he go in? Did Joan have to watch her daughters get assaulted and thrown into the water or vice-versa?
Whatever order he went in or how long it took...it's chilling to say the least.

I've often wondered why the husband wasn't with them on vacation. I am guessing it was the obvious thing that he was working and couldn't get the time off. But man I can't imagine how much guilt he may be dealing with just because of that. This never happens if he is there, not that he is to blame of course, I mean who would know this. But I think I would hang myself after this happened if I were him. Kudos to him for not doing so.

While I am sure behind some of his sarcasm and sharp wit there is still some pain, it is actually nice to see some of these victim's families move on and still live a life. I wouldn't want to be in Rogers' situation, but I'll give him credit, he didn't just sit there and wait to die. Lots of the time these people re-marry, or have other children. Gord McAllister remarried too, and he looked about as broken as a man could look.
If anything it is inspiration to do the same if there is ever a tragedy in your life.
LooksLikeCRicci 01-31-2023, 07:42 PM Which is the case where the young girl became fast friends with the young adult man who was having issues with his dad? He had health issues and needed money for medical reasons, so he invited this gal to dinner with them and the Dad popped off and murdered the son in front of the young girl and then stabbed her to death before dumping their bodies in a trunk in an abandoned parking lot and then remodeling the room the son was killed in at 3am?
That girl. That had to have been horrifying-- she was literally only there as an act of kindness.

William Fischer who is still wanted to this day.
Labonte18 02-06-2023, 11:54 PM I'll go a little sideways with my answer here based off the topic title and.. Admittedly straying from the point as stated by OP in the first post.
Any of the family members who passed before the case was solved.
I can't pull cases from memory like you all do, so, I'm sure someone can chime in here with an example or three.
But, imagine that Noreen Gotsch dies tomorrow and next week they find Johnny's body.
That's a story that.. No doubt has a horrible ending.. But, Noreen finally having answers before she's gone? In some small little way.. While not making things 'better'.. It would make it not as bad, perhaps.

Yeah, William Fischer. What a coward. You don't know the guy's father, and yet you are there with your boyfriend sort of in the middle of this heated argument. They leave the room, you hear gunshots and your boyfriend is dead from his own father. You know you aren't leaving alive. That would be utterly horrifying!

I know Gosch's case was not on UM to my knowledge. But yes this woman has suffered. If everything is true about her like her son coming back to the house to talk to her, then that's just torture. Even stuff like the comparison with Johnny and the guy who was a White House reporter. I mean, I've seen the interview with that guy, and it is truly bizarre. I went in to that interview thinking that it is a crazy idea to think this guy is Johnny Gosch and somehow came out of it with the possibility that he actually could be Gosch. The interview was THAT bad and that unconvincing.

The Gotsch case was just the one that popped into my head as an example. One that I can generally always remember all the details of.
I know it wasn't profiled on UM.. But.. Just the best example I could come up with. I know there's been several cases that were on UM.. Probably one of them involving a car discovered at the bottom of a lake.. Where parents passed away before the case was solved. I just.. Don't have the recall of the names and details that so many do around here.
Someone mentions a name here, I generally have to go look it up and have that "Ah-ha" moment where I know what they're talking about..
It really does amaze me the recall that most of the posters here have. 90% of the time I'll talk about "Oh, the case where the little red sports car was found buried years later" and everyone just immediately says "Lisa Marie Kimmell".. Or, the tow truck driver who was killed on the outskirts of a town.. And, boom.. Someone just off the top of their head has the name.
I ought to search around for that a bit.. I wonder what the true number of cases profiled on UM that ended with "Car found in body of water" there are. It's probably only 3 to 5.. But it feels like a whole lot more.

Not to hijack this thread but this alleged visit in 1997 is what drives me crazy the most about the Johnny Gosch saga. Because I’ve tried to analyze how it makes any sense at all.
The kid is abducted at age 13 and might have been placed in a child trafficking ring or with some evil unknown people. At some point he escapes (when we don’t know) and now as a 28 year old man he is able to secretly visit with his mother for 2 hours, accompanied by some stranger, and then has to disappear into the night, never to be seen again.
For the sake of argument, let’s say this DID happen and this really was Johnny. Why would he have to remain in hiding? Would he still have to fear for his life because he knows that the higher ups of this trafficking ring would try to kill him to keep him quiet? If he and his mother go straight to the police at that very moment, and he names all the names who kept him trapped all those years, I have to believe he would have been given major protection. And this would have been all over the news not just for his long awaited return but for the proper people receiving their punishment.
What possible reason does he have to remain in hiding right now? It doesn’t make any sense.

Just take all this as wrapped in "My opinion"..
I've said this one before.. God Bless Her.. Noreen has lost her mind from grief.
But.. Yeah. Woman is.. The term that probably best fits would be "Functionally Insane"
That visit.. I don't believe ever happened, outside of in her head. And if it DID.. It wasn't Johnny and she's, once again, "Functionally Insane" and believes it was.
Johnny is dead and probably has been since at worst a few days after he went missing.
Oh.. one more thing. If someone really DID show up at her house as she describes.. That person needs killing. That may be the single most horrible thing anyone has ever done to another human being.
mtaylor72 02-14-2023, 12:18 AM I would imagine Scott Johnson and his friend. Assuming he and his friend were burned alive, nothing could be worse than that.
GyorkLady 02-16-2023, 05:31 PM Wendy Camp, Cynthia Britto and Lisa Kregear, but especially Cynthia since her cause of death was "homicidal violence of unspecified means". I don't recall if anything was mentioned regarding Beverly Noe's relationship with Cynthia, whether she had any affection for her son's stepdaughter. But I can only imagine that poor little girl's fear and confusion when someone who was potentially a grandparent figure turned violent against her.

Yeah the amount of torture that she endured is unthinkable. I think DWE also abducted Amy Bechtel, who most likely suffered at his hands as well. and I’m sure you are probably aware that Lisa’s mom visited the boards expressing that she thinks DWE may have abducted Amy as well. his own brother put him near the scene of Amy’s disappearance. There’s no telling how many others he killed. We know that he murdered in prison. he kidnapped a family at gunpoint on the side of the road, likely with the motive to rape. The fact that he was callous enough to take the entire family with the intent to murder them shows how evil he is. These crimes were committed in different parts of Wyoming so I don’t think it’s a stretch to imagine that he traveled around the state and perhaps to other states as well.
I would also mention Roxanne Jeeves. She was abducted with her son and both were murdered right before they were setting off to visit their family for the holidays. I can’t imagine the terror that she experienced especially for her child.
