Reference the recent situation with trekky and JamesG in the chit chat forum.
Because you have people listed as "moderator" participating in forums for which it is claimed they have no moderator authority. AND because you have listed in the forum's TOS that members may not contest the rulings of a moderator in the performance of their duties.....can I suggest you employ some readily apparent means to display which boards any given moderator has "incontestable" authority on? Perhaps something in their signature file, just as a generic example.
In the recent collision, I immediately had reservations about how Trekky was treated, but bit my tongue over your TOS provision, out of an abundance of caution that JamesG's actions might have been "in the performance of duty"
Until, that is, I saw PennyLane enter the fray, knowing full well that TJ would never bann a "franchise" member such as PennyLane. Only then finding the comfort to jump upon her bandwagon, and express my opinion as well.
But the way things are currently organized, is very confusing having to wonder if we are witnessing a duly authorized sanction in progress, or just someone operating above their pay level. :)
Maybe you could create a new smiley and make it available only to moderators when performing official business? https://thumbs.gfycat.com/EminentGlisteningAcornbarnacle-max-1mb.gif
