My car is 3 years old and my most recent registration cost me about $298. Maybe I should start shopping for a new bicycle, at least riding one of those won't incur a fee like that.

Yeah, mine is 3 years old too--registrations are pretty steep, with county wheel tax fees and probably other costs thrown in.
