I, for one, think they're wrong. I saw one guy at the mall today that had his daughter tied up with one and she was all crawling around Target!

They're retarted...they should all be burned. Just hold onto your kids hand or put them in the buggy or something for crap's sake. My gawd.

I live in Georgia, so I don't suppose the child leashes have reached here yet. Either that or I don't get out enough. Wouldn't that be considered child abuse? To tie a leash around a child and drag it around a store? Just wondering.

Personally, if I saw a kid with a leash on I would probably look at the parents like they were a martians or something.

I had one when I was little and it just straped onto my wrist. It was yellow & looked like a phone cord & had a soft wrist strap.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with child leashes. If it keeps the kid under control without being detrimental to it's health then I'm all for it.

I don't find anything wrong with them either. Personally, I had a "leash" around me as a child, as well. And holding hands don't always work, 'cause kids tend to slip outta it, anyway.

Plus, having a leash gives a child more independence... Although it may not seem this way. They are able to wander about more on their own without a parent fearing that they'll get lost. Additionally, when you're on vacation or in the city, the last thing you want is to lose track of your three year old.

I don't really like them that much but if it prevents a kid from being kidnapped then i suppose its good.

Personally, i don't like seeing a child on a leash...

There are however many many grown men and women I would like to see on a leash...

Leashes are for dogs (u know, those furry things on 4 legs that bark?), and other inferior animals. If you're going to be sick enough to even considar placing any CHILD on a leash (realize I cringe dramatically at even the thought of that), why not just shove them down on their knees and make them beg and grunt for food? Leashes show a GREAT restraint from master to servant, and seeing ANY child on one is enough to make me want vomit all over myself. Child leashes are a disgrace to parent, child, AND society.

Um, I had a leash when I was little and it didn't bother me at all.

I worry about you Adele!! Remember the Full House episode where DJ skips school? And Joey finds her?? MICHELLE was on a "leash" no problem with that. And I wouldnt even consider that a "leash". Unless its wrapped around the kids neck..then its ok. Some kids NEED it. Its good if your TOO tall to hold your kids hand...but they dont want to be picked up, ya know? But only to a certain age..if you were like 5 or 6...youve got problems..but if youre a little tyke...whats the big deal? Its gives the kid some freedom to walk by themselves without being in a stroller or carried. I dont see the *abuse* in it..unless it was a REAL leash.

We learned all about cults in my psychology class last year, and I can tell that this definantly is not brainwashing. It's just another way to keep a child a little more safer. I was at a parade this a while ago and this lady had her daughter on one. I guess to keep her out of the street. But then she walked her daughter. And it looked really stupid, like she was walking a dog. I'm against leashes. If you can't control your kid from walking into a street during a parade. Don't bring that child.

No! Child leashes are not for lazy parents - they are for parents who give a damn about their kids and don't want them to run off or get hurt!!! Lazy parents are the ones who let their kids run riot and don't bother disciplining them. Those type of parents should be on a leash themselves!! :mad:

Why feel bad? Is it hurting them physically? And do you REALLY think a child is gonna remember being 'tethered' to their parents...and have it affect them in their later years? And MAYBE they WILL remember! Maybe they'll remember the added 'closeness' brought upon by the parents.

And child abuse? Child abuse is leaving your kids in a hot car (or trunk) for the day...ignoring their needs...anything more than a smack on the behind for punishment...sexually abusing them, or allowing others to abuse them. Well, you get the picture.

A leash for your kids...why not? Just don't make 'em do tricks and beg for treats in front of company! :lol:
