When the guys arrive the girls surprise them when the tape is all set up. Chrissy thinks Jack is showing one of her tapes which is why Chrissy would say that Jack is in the movie. Mr Roper came to the apt to watch the movie that he saw in Larry's hands. Jack would not be in that movie.

But the context of the girls coming into the apartment and then Mrs Roper trapped the guys to continue with their original plan. You could also ask why the guys would turn on the projector to show a porno movie to the girls and Mrs Roper.

Logic would ruin the set up for a funny joke.
