Let the buyer beware!!!!!
I purchased the first 17 episodes of Mama's Family way back in June from TVTapesGuy and never received anything. He doesn't reply to any messages. I should have known that he was a fraud when the address he uses had a different name then his. TV Tapes Guy and AndyGriffenFan may be the same person. Both are from the same town. Both have complaints against them for not supplying products they promised. There are resources out there that everyone should use before doing business. I know I will NOT be taken again. Be sure to post anyone who cheats.

He's also known as OldSchoolFan. His e-mail is dwg4@planttel.net. He told me that he was cleaning his computer harddrive and didn't get a chance to reply. He also told me that he was using a Yahoo! address from the library, but when I looked to see the address, it was dwg4@planttel.net. He may have other aliases and e-mails, he posts on TAGS and Mayberry, RFD, Mama's Family boards, trying to "sell complete sets." BEWARE! He lives in Brinson, GA, so if you all know this person by other aliases, PLEASE do not hesitate to post!

Thanks Jennifer12 for posting about this person.

I'm going to the other sitcom sites to see if this person is advertising and posting a warning there. Maybe he'll just get off these boards and find another way to earn a living.

Since you sent him money,he committed an act of fraud. Go to your post office and file a complaint against him. He also committed wire fraud as well . Maybe that will put a stop to him/her . BTW, whats this person's name ?

Hi. This person is

Wayne Guthrie
2814 Spring Creek Road
Brinson, GA *****

For all of you, I know a bit about Brinson, GA, since I only live about 50 miles away from Brinson. It is near Bainbridge, so this person might have rented a post office box, since he uses Bainbridge's post office. BEWARE!

You are exactly right. I searched Superpages.com and did a people search. Danny and Betty Guthrie live at that address and a phone number is listed. This information may be helpful at the post office. I had gotten a postal money order so they can trace it. Thanks so much for your interest in this. Restoring my faith in humanity.

What is the penalty for mail fraud?

The act of advertising a product and soliciting money or trade and not delivering the product, or delivering a bad product, constitutes fraud. If the transaction (such as mailing a check or mo) went through the US Postal Service then mail fraud (a federal offense) is committed. You can file a claim at www.fraud.org. and file a personal claim. The penalties vary, but restitutuion is almost always included. Internet providers can be notified and they can also file charges against customers who use their service as an instrument of fraud. So the charges can stack up quickly. Its a time consuming, lengthy, process.

Is this the (bad) guy? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1554602802 I'm not sure if this is the person (the scammer) you guys are talking about but if it is, he's scamming people on eBay too.

After much haggling and email, I got 1 tape of Sanford, not 2 with the complete eps, I sort of second the rest of the board, tapes are not as advertised and buyer beware, sort of a shame this happens as it screws up everything. Oh well, bad experience, what can you say!

Everyone that gets ripped off, you can use swapshop.com to trade. They wait till they get both items being traded, then send them out, if one isn't received , the items are sent back. It costs about £2.00 a tape, so I'm searching for a better place, like £2 a trade.

So, it's kinda worth it, at least you get the tapes
