View Full Version : Gilbert Gottfried Is the New Permanent Host of Jeopardy!
icecream 04-01-2022, 12:25 PM Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik had been considered the frontrunners for the permanent hosting job, alternating all the hosting duties this year and doing well at it. But Sony went in a totally different direction. They want a lot of comedy added to Jeopardy, so they will be announcing Gilbert Gottfried as the new permanent host starting with the 2022-2023 season (a Sony executive who wanted to remain anonymous confirmed this to me). While he seems like a bizarre choice, Gilbert does have game show experience from his stint on Hollywood Squares.

This has got to be an April Fools Day joke right?

:(
May he rest in peace !
TVLegend 04-12-2022, 07:29 PM Gilbert’s gone to join Alex now.
howilu 04-13-2022, 09:42 AM He will also be remembered for the Tom Bergeron hosted version of Hollywood Squares and the episode where he was the only celebrity chosen for most of the show and every time a contestant made an incorrect judgement he would bellow "YOU FOOL!" Even Penn Jillette got into the act.
May he rest in peace.
Edward216 04-15-2022, 01:36 AM I'm not a Gilbert Gottfried fan but it's kind of weird he should die shortly after this April Fool's Day prank announcement was posted.
Ed.
AMackII 04-15-2022, 04:05 PM Reallistically, Maybe Jeopardy does not have to confirm Gilbert Gottfried as host because it’s been 72 hours since he left our world.
This thread did not age well. Like Gilbert himself.
(That line was a Gilbert-like joke. He would have laughed.)

:angryfireYou see, CatsRule/IceCream? this is EXACTLY why I had such a meltdown over somebody as old as LeVar Burton becoming the permanent host of Jeopardy!! Suggesting Mr. Burton as host right now would just be opening up a can of worms at this point, especially considering that he already turned 65 last February. No wonder why I don't take April Fool's jokes too well.:crying:

Anybody at any age can die at anytime. I don't understand your logic.
What's to stop a 30-year-old host from getting into a car wreck?

Why should I care what you think anymore? Please leave me alone. I really mean it this time. Because you feel the need to respond to everything I post on this site instead of having other users reply to me, you are just beyond ignoring at this point.

Do I reply to every single post of yours? How am I stopping other users from replying to you?
Why reply if you want to ignore me?
James28 04-16-2022, 10:46 PM ^^I don't care if you are a moderator/administrator. I'm just sick of being a target for you, is all.

I’m not an Administrator. Asking you to explain yourself does not make you a target. Back up what you claim and discuss instead of throwing a tantrum.
James28 04-16-2022, 11:23 PM I JUST WANT A YOUNGER PERSON WHO IS NOT PAST THE AGE OF 50 TO BECOME THE NEW PERMANENT HOST OF JEOPARDY!, PERIOD!
I guess this is too much to ask. I'm not going to be forced to explain myself if I don't want anyone dying while still on the job.
JamesG 04-16-2022, 11:39 PM I'm not going to be forced to explain myself if I don't want anyone dying while still on the job.
What can be done to prevent that?
Bob Barker was 49 when he first hosted "The Price is Right" and lasted until 2007 when he was 84. He's still alive today.
We're not going through this argument again. May Gilbert Gottfried rest in peace.
