To clarify, this simply isn't about shows took a dip in quality from each season. Instead, they took a horrendous nose dive from its initial season and never again reached its peak form.

"Revenge" and "Prison Break" (though the 2017 revival was good)

My vote is Arrested Development. I loved the first season, second season was Ok but the third season was unwatchable. The viewing public felt the same because the ratings fell badly and it was cancelled.

The Millers. The first season was funny but the second season was so bad, it got cancelled.

The only show that hit me that way at the time was Get a Life. Cheers fell apart in the third season, but then bounced back for the fourth and fifth seasons.

I would go with Batman. After the second season, the show was cut back to one episode a week and Batgirl was added. But it wasn't enough to save the show and by March the show was cancelled.

HBO's "Westworld".

It doesn't feature the western theme park anymore, now it's some futuristic society dystopian thriller.

The Facts Of Life

Yeah. I feel like each season drifted further and further away from the original show. By the end, there were only two original characters left from the backdoor pilot.

A Different World (no-brainer!)

I definitely prefer the original show, with Denise and Maggie, and the original theme song. There are so many replacements that the rest of the series feels like a spin-off.

I like the original premise, with the original family. Once we no longer saw Christy's children, the show lost something. Once we lost Christy as well, it felt like a completely different show.

Believe it or not, IMO- 'Two and a Half Men'.

First season, it had a rather intriguing premise of a totally self-absorbed bachelor taking in his divorced, nerdy brother and his young nephew dealing with split custody. All three showed signs of growth and becoming better people- not to mention dealing with the issues of trying to set examples for a young child dealing with split custory.

Alas, shortly after that ALL those positives went out the window and it became Charlie and Alan being cartoon versions of their initial selves with NO ONE lifting a finger to prevent the nephew from growing into a teen trainwreck. .and then of course the huge feud between Charlie Sheen, the producer. .and everyone exploded and the whole thing wound up an unwatchable mess (and NO Ashton Kutcher and whoever that girl was that supposedly was Charlie's hidden daughter playing the new 'half-man' weren't worth bothering with). I stayed with the show longer than I should have mainly because Season One had intriguing premises with at least vaguely likable people.

Sliders (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125314/http://www.jumptheshark.com/s/sliders.htm):
The cliff notes (https://www.neogaf.com/threads/sliders-what-the-hell-happened.1075634/) version:

Simply put, ''everyone'' on the cast or crew got screwed over at one time or another:
The first two seasons were fraught with behind-the-scenes battles (http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?bid=8&tid=28771&mid=495735) between the Fox network and the production team. Fox wanted more episodes that had a greater emphasis on action (https://tygerwhocame2t.blogspot.com/2014/10/what-if-tv-movie-had-been-success-in-usa.html?showComment=1510723826985#c3026250538810366374) and less continuity (so they could show them in any order they wanted), even putting the show (https://web.archive.org/web/20140330081305/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3116121-sliders/?view=getnewpost) on hiatus after the ninth episode of season 1. The production crew responded by forcing a cliffhanger at the end of said episode, to Fox's dismay. Later on, Fox canceled the series at the end of season 2, and it was only saved by a massive fan campaign.
Fox brass continually hounded co-creator (https://mashautoblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/sliders-seasons-1-4-dvd-box-set-for.html) Tracy Tormé throughout his tenure on the show. They tried to derail his plan to resolve the first-season cliffhanger, his input in season three was ignored by the production team when the series moved primary filming (http://olclassic.lowerdecks.com/index.php?showtopic=2462) to Los Angeles, and he eventually left the show at the end of the third season.
John Rhys Davies' controversial death in "Exodus" (via having his brains sucked out, being shot and then left to die on an exploding planet) was caused by behind-the-scenes issues. Rhys-Davies allegedly insulted then-producer David Peckinpah (https://www.filmboards.com/board/p/2545567/) (while drunk) at a party hosted by Fox brass when the series first began. Later on, when Peckinpah (https://www.quora.com/When-did-Sliders-show-began-having-a-lesser-quality-episodes-due-to-David-Peckinpah) was promoted (https://www.tv-calling.com/the-unoriginality-of-fringe-part-two/) and gained control (https://www.reddit.com/r/scifi/comments/oqfwrp/its_a_damn_shame_that_either_sliders_is/) of the series, he used this leverage to convince the network to fire (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Trivia/Sliders) the actor (via the release of his episode contract), and gave him the fate he endured in the episode.
Jerry O'Connell (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/pskh86/jerry_oconnell_in_sliders_is_the_true_master_of/) was originally planned to star in several episodes of the fifth season, but held up production for months while he tried to negotiate for an Executive Producer credit. While the network had already given him more perks than any of the other cast members, O'Connell wouldn't budge, and after hearing that his brother Charlie wouldn't be able to appear in all 18 episodes (as Charlie's character, Colin (https://www.reddit.com/r/SLIDERS/comments/okly9g/colin_was_going_to_be_quinns_clone/), was contingent on Jerry's character, Quinn), the brothers walked away from the table. Things got worse when the production team attempted to figure out a way to explain Quinn and Colin's absence from the show - Jerry wouldn't give up the use of his image or voice from the prior seasons, meaning that the producers had to make do with a pair of stunt doubles and a voice that is clearly not O'Connell's.
Kari Wuhrer's presence (https://www.quora.com/What-TV-show-would-you-like-to-see-the-networks-bring-back-with-the-same-cast) on the show in the third season (https://sliders.tv/bboard/viewtopic.php?id=326) caused massive friction between herself and Sabrina Lloyd. During a script-reading, Wuhrer made snide comments about Lloyd's engagement to one of the crew members, which caused Lloyd to break down and cry in her trailer, thus holding up production for hours. David Peckinpah (https://sliders.tv/bboard/viewtopic.php?pid=641#p641) (who first approached Wuhrer to star on the show) used this incident to spread lies about Sabrina costing the network money, and eventually told her point-blank that he would support Wuhrer and not her (prompting her to leave the series). Even worse, Peckinpah later twisted the knife (https://books.google.com/books?id=kcuhDwAAQBAJ&pg=PA433&lpg=PA433&dq=david+peckinpah+ruined+sliders&source=bl&ots=heNuHadfK9&sig=ACfU3U1pnd4xVTNxQEseG4Ghd3NS71kOJA&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjpkuz9qqvoAhXidM0KHYY0A_o4ChDoATAEegQIChAB#v=onepage&q=david%20peckinpah%20ruined%20sliders&f=false) by condemning (https://forum.gateworld.net/scifi-and-fantasy-television/18219-sliders-discussion-appreciation?t=17439&viewfull=1#post1154969) Lloyd's character, Wade, to being raped in a Kromagg (https://www.reddit.com/r/SLIDERS/comments/2qmaug/series_discussion_no_kromaggs/) breeding (https://www.reddit.com/r/scifi/comments/h9rakl/sliders_started_25_years_ago_so_much_potential/) camp - the only reason it didn't come off looking even worse is because the production staff led a revolt to change the plot to something more meaningful (via the introduction of the Humaggs).
Peckinpah himself was demoted to a consultant by the network out of spite because he had taken on a concurrent job as executive producer with another Universal Studios (https://www.hometheaterforum.com/community/threads/sliders-season-4.235962/page-2#post-3114968) production called ''Turks''. However, he often visited the ''Sliders'' (https://sliders.tv/bboard/viewtopic.php?id=373) set and ended up influencing the direction of the fifth season (https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/s-l-i-d-e-r-s.162073/post-3482174) just as much as the previous ones.
While renewal rumors were still up in the air at the end of season five, Sci-Fi discovered that they didn't have the cash necessary to pay the actors' contracts for another season, and when fans emailed the company asking for information, Sci-Fi representatives emailed back that the show was cancelled because the actors wouldn't sign back on, conveniently ignoring the monetary issue.

Reading this, you can blame the following in order:

1. Fox
2. Peckinpah (https://www.reddit.com/r/SLIDERS/comments/tuslg3/just_read_slide_effects_warmed_my_heart/)
3. Wuhrer (https://sliders.tv/bboard/viewtopic.php?id=366)

5. Season 4 and 5 show runners (https://sliders.tv/bboard/viewtopic.php?pid=643#p643)

Laverne and Shirley was very funny and entertaining until the move to California and got worse when Shirley left. It just wasn't the same show anymore.

Life Goes On was brilliant in it's first two seasons. Season 1 was was very lighthearted and family friendly. A lot of focus was on Corky and how he dealt with everyday situations due to his Down's Syndrome and how his family was there for him. Season 2 was good too. The mother got pregnant and had another baby. Everyone had to adjust to that. Season 3 and 4 got much darker and started focusing less on the family and more on Becca and Jesse and his AIDS diagnosis. I hated that they had Becca and Tyler break up after she had been pining for him for years and then they have him die in a car accident. It was such a waste. The show definitely became darker and wasn't the same family friendly show it was in the beginning. The first two seasons are my favorite.

Home Improvement declined in quality in the last season. I think everyone was tired and JTT had left the show by that point. They were running out of ideas and it just wasn't the same show that it had been in the beginning.

I absolutely adore Frasier and am glad they had an 11th season to tie up loose ends and end the show properly but there were a lot of episodes that season that were garbage. The show was really running out of steam by that point and Kelsey Grammer had played the role of Dr. Frasier Crane for over 20 years. Season 11 was by no means a stellar season, there were some decent episodes and I love that Niles and Daphne had their baby but the show had run its course.

I love Friends and I know a lot of people on here aren't too fond of the series but I'm glad the show ended when it did. I was disappointed that we never got a Ross/Rachel wedding but I'm glad they reunited in the finale. There were a lot of things wrong with season 10, like Joey/Rachel for example. I'm glad that Chandler/Monica got to adopt twins and they got a house in the suburbs. But the majority of season 10 was garbage.
