Between Chet now knowing about Lisa, Vanessa Angel looking bored, and the boys reduced to supporting players on their show (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406112718/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3118258-weird-science-its-alive/#entry1801628), plus an evidently lower budget. Did Chet not only knowing about Lisa's true nature and creating sexual tension ruin (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031143350/http://www.jumptheshark.com/w/weirdscience.htm) his main function as the jerky brother who unwittingly gets caught up in the magical shenanigans without ever quite knowing what's going on? Chet was in a sense, kind of like Dr. Bellows (https://i-dream-of-jeannie.fandom.com/wiki/Dr._Alfred_Bellows) on I Dream of Jeannie.
Also, it seemed like every episode was about Lisa screwing up, where every wish seemed to become just an excuse for a movie parody. For example, in the final episode (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Weird_Science_episodes#Season_5_(1997%E2%80%9398)), she causes (https://headhuntersholosuite.fandom.com/wiki/Weird_Science:_WS4) an alien invasion a la Independence Day and gets people killed. Before, the "wish" sort of worked but then had an unexpected twist, or the boys took it too far.
