There is a Website that I USUALLY frequent. I decided to stop posting for a little while, and haven't posted in 8 days there…. Guess what? NO ONE on that Website asked where I was all these days. NO ONE. You'd think at least ONE person would ask about my 8 day so far disappearance, since I am usually a frequent Poster, bit NOBODY asked about me. I feel unloved there. ☹️

I'm sorry you feel unloved but, 8 days isn't really that long of a time.
You shouldn't let things like that bother you.

On here, at the beginning of the year, I wasn't on for about 3 months
(I think it was from around the end of Feb. to the end of May)
I don't know if anyone even missed me, of course, it doesn't even matter!
I had a lot happen to me during that time.

My problem is, then and now, I just didn't have as much time to post like I once did.

Hmm. It's just that I am usually such an Active Member on that Website, you'd think at least one Person would raise their eyebrows at my 8;day disappearance. Someone else stopped posting for about TWO days, and a LOT of Posters were sounding the alarm and wondering what happened to him. Turns out he had a heart attack and was in ICU. Luckily he survived and came back even stronger. :)

Last thing I look for is love on the forums. I've been on one forum for about 6 yrs and very active and when I would get infractions and be gone, my buddies would tell me people are asking about me. And some would even post on "where is she", the moderators would delete it fast as they didn't want others to give me credit.... I had a lot of friends on that group but a lot of nasty moderators that wanted me gone....

If you really enjoy the forum don't stay away too long. Is it a busy well rounded forum?

I don't think 8 days is that long of a break to be honest. Around here people take much longer breaks and come back all the time.

And even if people aren't vocal about it, it's still possible your posts have a positive impact on someone.

Don't let that bother you. Maybe some are wondering where you are but just haven't posted it.

Point being, it's probably inadvisable to depend upon being "missed". Other people have their own priorities to worry about.

What I was getting at, your decision to withdraw from this other web group, and then watch for what reaction your absence might provoke, had a distinctly "good bye cruel world" flavor to it.
As with suicidals who think "this will really teach them all a lesson" as they are jumping off the bridge.

On this loved thing on forums, I know if I dropped out of sight here, I'd be missed but not much. Who would most attack if I was gone? ummmmmmmmmm

I logged in yesterday to that Website, and saw I had a Private Message. I was thinking,"Okay, maybe this is someone showing concern for me and asking if I am okay." I clicked on my Private Messages, and... It was someone telling me how crappy their Rival is. :rolleyes:

In times past where I've gone on vacation from a particular forum, the other regulars usually start posting negative garbage about me, trying to provoke me to respond. I guess their suspicion is that I must be lurking, and must be slapped to re awaken me?

That's as close to being loved as I get.

The main Forum of that Website is now basically now a Ghost Town after I stopped posting there. It seemed like I kind of caused a mass Exodus because now the posts on the Main Forum is now far and few between. 5 days passed before ONE new post was posted. Even a closely related Website commented on how Ghost Town the main Forum seems lately.

Edit. That Website only has about 500 new posts in the roughly 27 days since I left. Compare that to another similar Website that has about 500 new posts a DAY....

Someone FINALLY asked where I was after a damn month of me not posting on there. I was wondering when someone would ask where I was. And they didn't even get my name right. They were like,"Where's Janet?" But I knew who they were talking about. :)
