Ever since the debut of The Lego Movie I noticed that the name Emmett has become very popular due to the character Emmet Brickowski and I would like to know more about the name Emmett. Before The Lego Movie came out the only Emmett I knew was NFL's Emmett Smith. I also have seen Emmett spelled with one T like The Lego Movie character spells his name. Is Emmett now a hugely popular name for boys now?

Emmett was one of Andy Griffith's most unpopular characters. There was also an Emmett on Switched at Birth.

I don't know any Emmett, and the first person that came to mind is Emmett Till.

I always liked Emmett Kelly the famous clown and Emmett Honeycutt on Queer As Folk
