View Full Version : Random Injuries...and Stupid ones
Swimfan85 07-11-2002, 11:18 PM have u ever gotten injured by doing something stupid....I have plenty of times
TWICE NOT ONCE BUT TWICE in a hockey game I was in this tourny...when I was just starting and I had 2 breakaways and both times I crashed into the goal post....dont know how that is possible Im just accident prone like that (keep in mind this was a WHILE ago...lol)
once I was riding down a hill with my friend and his bro and my bro threw a tennis ball at us and my bike went over the ball and i flew form my bike blah I was eight
I dont know but playing softball me and my friend were going for a fly ball and we crashed and her cleat went into me haha that was swift
another time playing soccer...I was playing goal and I didnt realize the size of the goal and dove to stop a shoot and dove head first into a goal post<~~~ hahaha funny
then me and this girl were going for a ball in soccer and slidding she spiked my with her cleats in my rib cage...and since it was a home game we had our home jerseys and i was like a nice brown/orangy blood color stained
what else? Im stupid and have bruises that randomly show up from hockey...like the one on my knee cept I actually knew what happeded
Blair85 07-12-2002, 12:51 AM I've had some doozy injuries...I think I was 10 & I was riding my neighbor's bike down their hill & around here there's BIG hills. N e way, I couldn't get the brakes to work, the bike was an old bananna seat bike, & it wouldn't stop so I jumped off it & rolled down the hill & by 2 houses! I didn't get hurt, thank God I'm pretty tough!
Another time my mom had the freezer door open, & I ran right into it, & fell in the cat's water bowl.
OMG, and the worst injury (so far) is when I made one of my cats mad...& he almost ripped my hand off! My gosh that hurt, & I still have scars.

LOL I've done a few times. I knocked myself out in the championship game one year. LOL THAT was an interesting night. I remember NOTHING of it. I had a concussion. :D
Then there was the time that we (when I say we I mean my older sister came up with the idea and for some reason I agreed to it) decided it would be fun to run down the front door hallway and try to jump INTO the hanging clothes boxes that were sitting outside the front door. Can we say broken leg. LOL
One time, we were bored, so we decided to start climbing trees. As I was pulling myself up to another branch, it broke. LOL I fell and, once again, broke my leg. ( I did that alot growing up) :)
D
Well, I'm often running into walls and doors and what not, so I'll leave all those incidents out. I couldn't recall them all anyway.
I almost broke my arm once when I was warming up pitching before a game and the third baseman was throwing the ball to first and hit me in the arm. (It hurt like heck)
I was standing still once and all the sudden fell backwards...I had on my skates and a helment. It left a lovely dent in my helmet.
I had some one jump out of a swing onto me. OUCH!

Blair85 07-12-2002, 01:16 AM I thought of another one...I fell sideways off the high-dive @ the pool, & almost hit the wall! I smacked the water really hard , & was bruised all on my side. Getting hurt sux!!!

Central Perk 07-12-2002, 08:17 AM Well One Time When I was like three I was walking around my house with my eyes closed and then when I opened them I walked straight into a wall.
Swimfan85 07-12-2002, 10:48 AM alrighty alright...If you wanted me to recount all the times Ive fallen, in hockey I couldnt cuz I never go a game without falling (not like randomly falling, but like checked and stuff) but lets see this was bout 3 1/2 years ago and we had qualified for some state tourny and I play wing...and when we are playing defense my job is to cover "the point"(the defensemen on my side..) which is on my side and so the girl was taking a shot and I was blocking it and it almost hit right where(a place which could really really hurt)..it hit me on the inside thigh and I jus went down hard...that hurts
AllIWantIsYourClutch 07-12-2002, 12:40 PM Well, I run into walls and stub my toes a lot.
At my 7th birthday party. I was all excited when one of my friends came and i opened the door and then the door closed on my finger. Ripped my whole nail off.
I got a staple in my finger once.
My cousin ran over my foot with a Barbie Jeep.
Titania 07-12-2002, 01:52 PM well, right now i have a cut on my forehead that ive been *trying* to hide with concealer.....i got it from walking into a door.
in the past ive walked into the glass sliding door on my pool house and gotten bruised,
i walked into a rosebush and cut my leg up,
o, and once this wasnt an injury really- but has anyone else ever shut their hair in their locker and had to put their combination in again and open it to try to get un-stuck?

KerriBerri687 07-12-2002, 03:42 PM i walk into walls. thats how i broke my toe....
Mossopp 07-12-2002, 04:02 PM My most stupid injury?
I believe I have already told you all about the time I poured boiling water over my head.
Kay Scarpetta 07-12-2002, 05:35 PM Last night I punched a brick wall and I did it again... and again... and again.
DJM77 07-12-2002, 07:40 PM When I was 2 I burned my hand when I touched the oven rack but I guess I was too young to know that it was going to hot.
When I was 14 I climbed some pipes so I could get on top of the roof of my high school so I could get a football down. I thought that I wouldn't be able to get down the same way that I got up there so I just jumped off the roof. It was about a 12 ft. jump. I sprained my ankle.
When I was 17 I was playing tackle football with some other kids and this one kid on the other team who weighed about 200 lbs. had the football. Everybody was trying to tackle him but he wouldn't go down. I decided to make a running leap. As soon as I jumped on him he started to go down and he landed on my head. It didn't knock me out but I was in a daze for the rest of the night.
JDS84 07-12-2002, 08:04 PM Well this summer I was in Mrytle Beach and I was at baseball game down there and this guy hit a foul ball I was standing up looking when my mom yelled catch it Jessie. Well I tried to but it smacked me right in the face. It scared my mom and dad to death. This lady walks up to me and goes are you okay miss? I was like yeah. I only walked away with a break to my cheek bone. It hurt like heck also.
There was this 1 time it was way back in 1986 I was jumping on my mom and dad's bed and I tripped and fell and busted my head open. It took 7 stiches to fix my head.
Also when I was little me, becci, chris, and shaun would all pile on my bike and play rollercoaster off of my hill and 1 time we wrecked. We all landed on top of eachother. It was not fun at all.
Another time I was at school and someone had something very rude to me and I got so mad that I punched a locker. Instead of that person I broke my knuckle.
One time I was at basketball practice and we doing 3on,2on,1 and I was running down the court and some how I was running very hard and I hit the door and it shatered. That was not fun at all.
Me and my cosuin marcy was sumoing like those guys on tv. So we wanted to try it. It was fun at first until she knocked me down that was not all I was laying flat on my back when she takes my feet and lifts me up and turns me upside down then I hear something in my back pop and I told her toquit she didn't and she got a busted lip by my foot. I couldn't move for 15 minutes. That was stupid and scary also.

OUCH! Hmmm, were you upset about something?:( I've done the same thing, but not on a brick wall cause there's not brick walls close-by. I hit the upstairs wall & left a dent. I know lots of people thats broken their hands like that. I used to bang my head against the wall.
Some more of my injuries include-walking into screen doors, rollerblading down hills (I don't know how I have any knees left), getting into a fight w/ a girl in the middle of my street (she started it!), and when I got the training -wheels off my bike, I was riding around my grandma's (aka Mamaw) yard, & I wrecked into some buckets full of nasty stuff!

Yah....it's called "I need anger-management" :crying:
InspectorExstead 07-12-2002, 10:33 PM lol...
during soccer practice i didn't see that there was a puddle of mud ahead (pre-glasses) and i ran into it and got stuck. to make it worse, we were playing with the guys. i know that's not an injury but...
the last day of school during pe i kept getting hit with the basketball. it was so sad.
i ran into a tree once also.
ran into the soccer goal chasing the ball during practice once, well not really ran (we weren't using the goals we made our one with cones) and i didn't want to give up the ball so i did that. i thought the net would come up so i could keep going but it didn't and i got my foot stuck in there and the girl got the ball.
:D
Swimfan85 07-12-2002, 10:53 PM I was racing my friend around the outside of my house and I decided to jump down a flight of stairs....sprained my ankle...ouch
not really my fault, but my friend decide to throw a basketball at my head....and it hit my ear and it hurt like a mother
AllIWantIsYourClutch 07-12-2002, 11:06 PM Oh yea, I seem to fall down the stairs a lot too.

I seriously hope your joking.

DarleneIllyria 07-13-2002, 12:14 AM I can't say that I got hurt much in gym, because I never dressed out. Needless to say, I got a few detentions and low marks for that one. I hated gym.
However, I am Miss Klutz. I have tripped and fell so many times in public, that I die of embarassment over and over again. I prayed so many times before graduation that I would make it up and down the stairs without tripping and falling on my ass. I guess that worked because I didn't fall. Thank God. I would've died for sure then and crawled to China.

Been there done that. Except that instead of punching a wall, I punched a tree. (VERY long story that I'm NOT getting into here) anyway, my mom got us (my sister took her aggrevasions out on the wall in her room) some help. Now I have some relaxation techniques that I use when I really get mad.
