Well yesterday I had to go to an appt, my gf was taking me and my dear neighbor Jeff helped fold my walker and put it in her backseat and when she started up her car, it would not start, so Jeff came to rescue again, went and got his battery charger and charged what appears to be a run down battery. With less driving in the last year, some cars are losing battery charges...so Jeff helped 2 dames in distress...This is my recent good feeling.

I agree; here I am in San Diego, where is it sunny and warm, meanwhile I have a friend who is in *Baker, California (coming back from Las Vegas), and it is snowing.

*Baker is located in the high desert region of San Bernardino County, where Southern California borders Nevada.

Yep! Baker is that really small town halfway between LA and Vegas where there are fast food restaurants for a food break and a rest ! My ex hubby and I used to drive to Vegas a lot, such a long boring drive, I couldn't wait to hit Baker ! :D:cool:

As they say about So. Cal., one can go to the beach and to the mountains on the same day, and if one is hearty, swim and ski in winter the same day. The Pacific Ocean is just too cold for me, the sun and sand are nice and warm.

I did a shopping favor for an older guy on my block and he handed me a wad of $20's that I declined to take. I didn't really look, but it had to be $60.00 or $80.00

He told me that he had to give me something and if I drink alcohol, and I said "Now that I'll take." He gave me this neat Carolans Irish Cream box set that he told me he got as a gift years ago, but has no need for it.

This great ointment is Badger Foot Balm and last night was the first night in a long long time, with no wake ups from foot pain..

My father and I smoked cigars outside today and had a nice chat. I loved the weather outside as it was moist and damp.

He gave me one of his more rare ones from his collection, a 2000/2001 CAO Odyssey. These were made in limited quantities in 2 batches, one in 2000 and the other in 2001. I'm hanging on to the band.

Im glad ya had fun Jimmy, what kinda cigs do ya like??

I don't smoke cigarettes (cigs), but I love cigars.

I usually go for:

Macanudo (Bourbon)
Partagas (Black)
Victor Sinclair (Connecticut)
Camacho (Connecticut)
BrickHouse
Graycliff
Drew Estate (ACID, Java)

There's a guy who sells out of his truck who travels around NY state around the summer so I try to go to him when I can. I love his Vanilla Cognac and Jack Daniel's infused cigars.

I don't care for fruit flavors like cherry, banana, mango...

These were originally made for Fidel Castro himself and they would be given away as diplomatic gifts. They were made available to the public in 1982.

She seems very happy with her soon-to-be-husband. Her first marriage lasted about five years, she and her first husband got married I think in August 1995, but unfortunately, he died in a car accident in April 2000, leaving her widowed. She later met my ex brother-in-law (who happened to be younger than her, by nine years, but age is just a number, I guess), and married him in November 2007, and the two were married for almost eight years until they divorced in February 2015, and now she’s getting married for a third time. Yes ! You never know ! Hoping this one is the person she is meant to be with ! :)

I've been married twice ! First man I had two children with , he cheated on me and was abusive ! :(Thank God he was a good Father though at least and very much kept up with our boys and didn't skip out on child support , so I have been able to forgive the issues he and I had ! ;)

Second Husband is the man I am with now! He's very different from the first , mellow and mild mannered ! It's been a lot of years now and it's working out ! :)

Yeah, I’m hoping my future brother-in-law is the person she is meant to be with too. She first started dating him back in 2019 and they got engaged last year, so they’ve been together for about 3 years. But my mother says she’s gonna walk my sister down the aisle, since she has no one else to walk her down.

I’m so sorry that your first husband cheated on you, Bonniegirl. You seem like such a nice, sweet ol’ gal, I don’t know who in their right mind would ever cheat on someone like you. At least he still knew how to still be a good father to your kids and didn’t divorce them too. Sounds like your second husband is Mr. Right. And since the two of you have been married for some time now, I can assume things are going good between the two of you.

This is my sister’s marriage story:
Her first marriage lasted about five years, she and her first husband got married I think in August 1995, but unfortunately, he died in a car accident in April 2000, leaving her widowed. Yep, it was. They don’t summon as many people to jury duty as they have pre-Covid. We all sat spaced out as opposed to filling every seat in the room. There were maybe 50 of us as opposed to a few 100.

I got called to an attempted murder case at a club in NYC and I was asked if I was a club goer. I said not as much lately but a decade ago I was a regular. I said I’ve been to that particular place a few times, but I don’t know anyone there on a first name basis.

That was enough for them to hear and I was excused.

The NY Lotto App has a system where you scan losing lottery tickets for drawings and free lotto tickets. I always scan them on my phone as I spot them when I go out.

Today it said I won a prize and it was a $50.00 gift card voucher that I can use at over 100 businesses like Best Buy, Kohl's, Staples, Sephora, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, GameStop, Restaurants... I choose how I want to use it and it has no expiration.

I walked through a park today and saw an older man doing pull-ups on the monkey bars. I would have guessed he was in his 60s but I heard from his grandson that he was 93!

He didn't speak English so his grandson translated for him when I told him I was impressed. He said that he grew up in rural China and he was used to doing heavy work for most of his life. They didn't have work-out equipment or gyms like we do, he said, and he used to carry sandbags and water buckets for miles as exercise.

Also, working out on the fields provided a work-out as is.

The hotel receptionist then shouted from the desk, "You cannot bring your bike in here." I see her struggling more to get it back outside and I'm just side-eyeing her and grinning. 😏

I felt so glad watching this on the subway last night. Two young black guys boarded the train and pulled out their blunts and got their lighters out.

Across from them was a middle-aged Rastafarian who shouted at them from his seat "RESPECT!" "*****s, put those away now! RESPECT! I smoke the weed too, but in MY home!" They both put them away.

People will think they can do whatever they want when nobody speak out. I shook his hand when I got off at my stop.

Awesome!!!!

Is the Goonies house still there??

Yes, and Data's house which is right next door. There's a self guided tour you can go on to all of the locations from the movie, including the main house from the Goonies and Data's house of course, plus the jail, the museum where the dad works, etc. We've been on it twice, once just the wife and I when we were still dating, and again when we took our daughter when she was much younger. And my daughter took her boyfriend a few years ago.
We still have the map. The time we took our daughter we had lunch at the bowling alley where we see Chunk squish his milk shake against the window at the beginning of the movie.

Good for you Dude, and the person you helped. This stuff doesn't happen and it's tragic, I think back to a person I helped a long while ago pay for his
groceries as he didn't have enough money. The money that is wasted on crap in our world is truly Pathetic.

If we work hard enough to fight the injustices, good can happen and does. Our city increased rents sky high in spite of the covid lockdowns and all the losses, and with all the work of those harmed, the rents have been reduced, mine to about $50 a month. This helps to reduce so much of the negatives going on.

Tara, good that you find these exciting and stunning, I don't find anything those ways....you are very interesting!!! An old soul????

I am an old soul but with a young spirit. I have always been attracted to things from the past, especially women's fashions and movies.

I am sagacious (old soul) to some degree but I am also naive/ immature (young spirit) as well. A total contradiction.

I'm an old soul as I'm an old person and would love to have so much of times gone back in our lives.... it's wild and so many depressed young people I hear about so much on my airwaves....so many talking about suicide....it's the fast fast tech world that's been created for the U.S. especially...

My very old kitchen stove is a classic relic and works wonderfully.....

Right now I'm making a decision on about 5 album photots of my life, I'm sentimental to a point but realistic...these photos are from my long life and family and friends don't want them .. I've already given my grandson a fistf ull of photos so he can know more about his gram.

I can only imagine the landfills with tons of photos. And landfills f ull of people's lives...

Todays "moderns" have their life photos in smartphones, I guess....

First sign of Spring hit my life last night, when I did not have to pull my sheet up over my face to keep my face and head warm, didn't do that last ngiht and it hit me, Spring is coming and first day this yr is March 20, and can't come soon enough, this year has been our coldest in So CA in yrs that we can remember.

I don't like heat on during the night, gets too hot in my little apt, and the gas co has made a hugh price gouging in the last 2 months. For those who use more heating, I'm hearing whopper gas bills.

Earlier I stepped outside to observe the heavens. It was so cool to see Jupiter and Venus in close proximity to each other in the WSW sky.

If astronomy is an interest of yours, mark March 2nd on your calendars when Jupiter and Venus are really close to each other, almost forming into a single planet.

I know, I am looking forward to this event:)

The skys and astronomy are fasicinating and if I could walk as I did in my life before hip replacement, I'd be looking at the skys....

Just an FYI, the Senior Groups I'm on was back up this morning...amazing...I guess.

I grew up with the Sears catalog in our home.,,and the great landmark store in Santa Monica that was shut down for progress, a light rail for more LA people to get to the beach, I hear the light rail is loaded with homeless....

Tara, did you not grow up with Sears? Maybe you are really younger than I imagine. Sears had EVERYTHING and good prices.... Tremendous LOSS

That is one surgery that comes out pretty well, but there are failures and problems, I know 2 people w ho have had issues post surgery. I never have done them, my antioxidants (grape seed extract etc) have kept my eyes good.

Glad you are good with the cat surgery.

My daughter had the misfortune at age 10 to be hit in the eye, neighbor bad boy, and had to have "cat" surgery at 18, they had to wait to her to be 18 to do the surgery. It's been good for her..but what a trauma when it happened..

Thanks! I started getting cataracts in my 40's. Eye Dr. asked if I was given steroids early in my life. I said yes. He said that is why I developed cataracts at a early age.

Oh those Steroids, I've heard it said they are the best and worst drugs. I may have had an injection in my knee at one point, but not sure. Otherwise I escaped them.....

The Majority since I've been doing home grocery deolivers (6 yrs) have been great, all thru covid and their stress levels, and throw in 6-8 grumps so that's not bad at all.

He's a smart 60 yr man and followed no mandates etc etc....He is from Europe and knows all that part of world too and what has been planned.

Just had a grocery delivery from a dear dear fellow...so interesting as we talked about his life a bit and he asked about my life some..he reminded me of a 20 yr old Harry Belafonte, .he put my frozen foods in freezer and other stuff where they belong.

I hope some others have some good things to report.

This is strange, I posted this but it has not appeared.

Yesterday a knock at my door gave me a huge suprise...a felllow I used to work with over 40 yrs ago, I didn't recognize him and then he started to talk about others we worked with and it was ok. He really aged and is 83, I invited him in and we talked for 30 mintues or so about the OLD Days...

He was waiting for his wife at her doc's appt.

He enjoys looking for people in his life and I do too. He found me.

Today I bought a book that I have been looking forward to reading for months :) A novel about Arabella Huntington (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabella_Huntington)

Then this afternoon, I spent an hour reading outside on the patio, one of my all-time- favorite activities (reading, while soaking up some glorious sunshine)

Life is good:D
