He really shouldnt have concerned himself at all with the tenants sex life when they are paying rent whether they was gay or straight. So yes it was odd. And why would it matter to him if Jack was involved in fetish activities? lol

While I liked Mr. Roper, he was a bit of a jackass sometimes. I remember my mother saying:

I got sick of seeing Ruta Lee playing his brief love interests. She appeared on the show at least a dozen times. I didn’t like him as much as Mr. Roper because:

He never had a wife
He was too goofy and klutzy and loose
Almost no one respected him
No one took him seriously
Almost all his airtime had something to do with the trio’s shenanigans and situations while with Mr. Roper he had a storyline sometimes and he had a comedic setup and scenes with Mrs. Roper that balanced out the show

He was quite “shy” and jumpy in that episode and I don’t know why. He was available for Lana who didn’t want him but when a woman comes along who likes him he’s nervous. And he gonna teach Jack some lessons on how not to be gay and how to pick up “chicks”. LOL.

Actually there are people like that, that is like Greatest Generation beliefs lol My grandpa was like that... He was against unmarried men and women having sex, but had NO PROBLEM with 2 gay men having sex, because he didn't consider homosexuality to be REAL. Heterosexual sex was the only REAL sex in his eyes. Go figure lol

I'm guessing Roper would have NO PROBLEM with 2 gay men being roomates.
