View Full Version : The Name Harry!! eddie146 02-01-2021, 03:42 PM Is it me or is there a different character named Harry on almost every show? eddie146 02-01-2021, 03:44 PM I know there are recurring character's Harry Noll and Deidre's husband- Harry Thompson. But there are plenty of others. Some are seen and some are just mentioned. For instance Harold ( Which could be Harry?) once mentioned his best friend Harry, but was not seen on the show. weldonballou 08-02-2025, 08:16 PM I couldn't figure out Harry Noll. Anybody know what his deal was anyway? Was he just badly written or something else? stevea 08-02-2025, 10:54 PM Harry Noll didn't appear until either late in season 3 or in season 4. The actor who played him played a few other roles in earlier episodes. weldonballou 08-03-2025, 06:18 AM Harry Noll didn't appear until either late in season 3 or in season 4. The actor who played him played a few other roles in earlier episodes. The episode I saw him in was from late season 2 and he was credited as Harry Noll in the credits. stevea 08-03-2025, 06:32 AM Yup, my bad, he was in two season 2 episodes. I think I've seen him in another color episode, called by a different name--but that's not shown on IMDb. I also think I've seen another actor playing the role. IMDb does show the actor, Lauren Gilbert, playing a totally different role in a season 1 episode. stevea 08-03-2025, 06:35 AM I know there are recurring character's Harry Noll and Deidre's husband- Harry Thompson. There are a lot of references to that first name on the show. George is playing golf with someone named Harry, a judge is named that, etc. ThisLittlePiggy 08-03-2025, 07:55 AM I think the sound of the name Harry is kind of comedic. Does that make sense? I like the sound of the name. I wonder if that's why it was used a lot? biffbronson 08-03-2025, 01:39 PM I will add that when Don DeFore made an appearance on My Three Sons, as Steve Douglas' old golfing partner, Don's character was named... Harry Palmer! :) stevea 10-10-2025, 11:40 AM I just saw the episode "The Fire's Never Dead, While the Ashes Are Red" (S2Ep24). In the episode they call him "Howard," but in the cast credits, he's Harry Noll. stevea 02-12-2026, 11:09 AM I just saw the episode "The Fire's Never Dead, While the Ashes Are Red" (S2Ep24). ThisLittlePiggy 02-12-2026, 12:00 PM I guess anybody can use any nickname if they want to but wouldn't Howie be the nickname for Howard? Harry could be a nickname for Harold or Harrison. |
