What will the new Schedule look like for Antenna TV for Winter of 2021?

Are there any Special Marathons or Stunts coming in the Winter of 2021?

Hopefully they announce their January schedule tomorrow. We do know from what our Antenna insider has said that 7AM-3PM on weekdays remains the same with no changes. Also: Webster, What's Happening Now!, The Ropers, and Three's a Crowd are all leaving the schedule.

Thanks for cutting the cheese!!!! Wait a minute lol!

Pretty good! As always I’m happy to see the Weekday Morning & Saturday Night-Early Sunday Morning sticking! I would hope though Antenna TV could add to its 1950’s & 1960’s collection of sitcoms this year!

When I’m off from work the Monday’s-Friday’s 4pm-8pm shows! Look great! I’m also enjoying Sunday’s 7pm-10pm programming.

The Weeknight 11pm-5AM shows are just not my cup of tea and that stinks cause I work 2nd shift so I could really go for those time slots. Oh, Well!

Glad to see Antenna TV really celebrating its Birthday!

The Marathon stunts look like fun!

Thanks again OnlineSitcoms poster!

Happy New Year!!

Too bad they didn’t put One Day at a Time in prime time or prime access - they would have the entire CBS Sunday night schedule from the late 70s/early 80s. Surprised they’re still double pumping Archie Bunker, since there are fewer than 100 episodes and they cycle through them very quickly.

That said, I really like Antenna TV. They have a great variety of sitcoms from a range of eras.

Good times for One Day At A Time and The Jeffersons but unfortunately Johnny Carson and Archie Bunker’s Place are still on the schedule but that’s expected. Are they trying to copy MeTV when they had FOL by putting it on early in the morning at 6:00 and 6:30am eastern time?

Obviously The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes weren't doing the job. Thy didn't even graveyard DS, but relegated it to weekends. They've had trouble with it before.

Also it'd be great if they found a couple of other forgotten comedies and give Paul Lynde and Lotsa Luck a rest. Like House Calls, for example.

Beautiful Schedule!!!!

Three's company removed from the 9pm slot and now replaced with the Jeffersons. I can watch One day at a time until June since I am working from Home but I would have liked if it was in the 7pm to 9pm slot. But overall wonderful schedule

https://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2020/12/antenna-tv-january-2021-schedule-stunts.html

As we mentioned before, Antenna TV is adding The Jeffersons and One Day at Time back to its lineup in January 2021. Now we have the timeslots they will air. One Day at a Time will air weekdays from 3-4pm ET leading into the new timeslot for Three's Company from 4-5pm. The Jeffersons will air in primetime weeknights from 9-10pm, right after Archie Bunker's Place from 8-9pm (its switching slots with Alice, as Alice slides to 7-8pm). The other weekday changes include The Facts of Life moving to 6-7am (instead of 3-4pm), while Diff'rent Strokes will be off the weekday lineup, but will remain on weekends (along with The Facts of Life) from 12-2pm. Wings and Becker will flop overnight hours at 1am and 4am to round out the weekday schedule changes.

Weekends will see more of a similar schedule on both days from 6am-6pm (minus the Saturday E/I hour at 9am. Shows include Head of the Class from 11am-12pm, Silver Spoons fom 2-3pm and Gimme a Break! from 3-4pm. Saturdays will continue to have the classics from 6pm-5am such as Father Knows Best, while Sundays from 6pm-5am will still feature '80s sitcoms kicking it off with Family Ties from 6-7pm. View the full regular schedule for Antenna TV for Q1 2021 that begins on Saturday, Jan. 2.

Stunts include, AnTENna TV's Birthday Blowout on New Year's Day airs 12pm-10pm, a 10 hour marathon featuring winners of Top Ten Antenna TV shows as voted on Antenna TV's Facebook page. AnTENna TV's Birthday Party will continue for the first 10 months of the year on the 10th of each month through October 2021 featuring 10 episodes of winners of various other Top Ten polls that have been running on Antenna TV's Facebook page, these stunts from Feb-Oct will air from 5pm-10pm. And finally, romance is in the air on Antenna TV with a Valentine's Day marathon of episodes all day on Sunday, Feb. 14. On Wednesday, March 17, this St. Patrick's Day catch the "It's Your Lucky Day" marathon featuring gambling episodes of your fave Antenna TV sitcoms such as Three's Company when Jack attends a charity ball with a socialite and loses $15,000 while gambling, Larry and the girls attempt to help him recover the money.

Until now I had missed that the new schedule actually starts on January 2, not January 4. With the changes they made, plus this reversal and not waiting for January 9 on the weekend changes, that means What's Happening Now! and Webster are definitely expiring at the end of 2020. WHN's parent show What's Happening! very likely expired at the end of 2019, as it did not air at all this past year. The Ropers and Three's a Crowd may or may not be expired, as they have aired with the Three's Company rotation at times. Welcome Back, Kotter has been gone several months, presumably expired as well but hopefully that is wrong and they will return Kotter on the next schedule change.

Boo on moving The Facts of Life to weekday mornings.

As for "doing the job," ratings for this kind of outlet are pretty low to begin with (I had seen that MeTV averaged a 0.2 rating at some point; not sure if that was a particular demo) ; so not sure what kind of number Antenna looks for.

Antenna TV shouldn't be so secretive with what will be airing on New Year's Day. We deserve to know the correct schedule for then, and not some unannounced winners of their poll. Who knows what will be on the schedule for then, they really screwed up just having the shows be a mystery. Not knowing what will actually be airing on New Year's Day, I am not just going to wait around for their unannounced schedule that day to see if it is shows I like or not. This is NOT the way to run a stunt programming day. My on screen guide just has the exact same episodes repeated from the previous day listed, which is surely incorrect. And my online listings just say the vague AnTENna birthday blowout. The blog a few weeks back said the 10th day of every month this year will have some related stunt with the winners of their polls. I hope that isn't run as shoddily as New Year's Day has been with not bothering to let viewers know what will actually be airing.

The New Years Stunt reminds me of NICK at NITE’s Classic TV Countdown. If memory serves me correct example they would say at 11pm airring at number 3 than the host would introduce the show saying this show was a hit in 1960 it would show a clip than the show. Than same at 11:30pm airring number 2. Than at 11:59pm (12AM) they would air there number 1 hit.

It kept viewers guessing and if the viewer didn’t enjoy that show they would hope they would tune in anyways or return after the show was over to see if one of there favorite hits was playing.

It was cool and different. Hope you’ll check it out maybe you’ll discover a show that you don’t like will end up being your favorite.

Although they should of done this countdown December 26-December 31 not on the 10th over most of the year. They should of aired it from 7:30pm-12:30AM & 12:30AM-5:30AM.

One Day at a Time is a lousy show, only good cast member on it is Valerie. I much prefer The Facts of Life in the 3PM hour. And Wings gets even more shameful treatment than ever before, it deserves much better than buried in the 4AM hour. Barney Miller getting graveyard weekend filler after being a key part of so many previous schedules is very insulting.

I wonder if (the original) One Day at a Time re-joining Antenna TV means it leaving the FeTV schedule. ODaaT had been airing at the 2:00 am (Eastern) hour for quite awhile now. Could that realistically change anytime soon, or is ODaaT starting to become FeTV's late-night/early-morning equivalent of M*A*S*H being on the 7pm (Eastern) hour on MeTV? (I wouldn't mind if it actually did; M*A*S*H is just boring.)

The truth is, however, I can't easily access Antenna TV, so I could only watch ODaaT on FeTV, and I had been DVR-ing its episodes because of that late timeslot.

Well a lot of shows air on both Antenna TV and feTV. The two shows that were mysteriously dropped from feTV were Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart, and it was like feTV didn't have a replacement so just aired Roy Rogers/Wild West in the daytime lineup.

Old thread when FeTV started running those shows:
https://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=374131

I have a suspicion that maybe Weigel running Decades exerted some exclusivity clause which forced feTV to drop it, even though Decades is a digit net closer like Antenna but it had paid for exclusivity, but that's just a guess. I have seen though that the Decades channel isn't freebie. It's not available on Verizon Fios likely because of cost issues and local BTV ( a streaming platform in six major markets) that has negotiated to carry PBS stations in certain markets, Antenna TV, retroTV, getTV, buzzr and many digitnets - but the Weigel channels have not been cleared likely because of retransmission costs.

The new Benson/Family Ties pairing on Sunday nights is a wonderful combo. It is too bad we can't have that on weekdays instead of just one night a week. And One Day at a Time won't do any better after Bewitched than FOL did. There are several former Antenna shows I would have rather seen return like Mr. Belvedere, Too Close for Comfort, Bachelor Father, and The Addams Family. This would be a much better weekday schedule, I put something totally compatible after Bewitched and the 11PM hour would be a huge upgrade over Designing Terrible. And I didn't even to get to see the Family Ties part of this pair tonight, my peace of crap TV just died at the end of Benson. Never buy the horrible Vizio brand, this one didn't quite last 5 years. Compare that to my first TV which lasted 12.5 years. And there was often a sound problem here where the sound skipped and didn't stay with the picture. I either had to turn it off or switch channels, smart TV this wasn't. Anyway, here is the weekday schedule that would be an improvement.

5AM The Joey Bishop Show
6AM Burns and Allen
7AM Growing Pains
8AM Diff'rent Strokes
9AM The Facts of Life
10AM Father Knows Best
11AM Hazel
12PM That Girl
1PM I Dream of Jeannie
2PM Bewitched
3PM Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
4PM Wings- Not once has Antenna TV ever given this show a weekday afternoon hour. I am getting tired of it getting treated like garbage by them. And while it is not G rated like some of the totally family oriented shows, Antenna doesn't care about that at 4PM with the raunch fest that is called Three's Company which is moving there. Plus they have aired Soap with a viewer discretion label on weekday afternoons before, Wings is tame compared to those shows.
5PM Benson
6PM Family Ties
7PM Who's the Boss?
8PM Three's Company
9PM The Jeffersons
10PM Johnny Carson
11PM Barney Miller
12AM Coach

Since they are starting with what won the poll, Antenna TV will probably go on down the list with the #2 show in February, #3 in March, etc. It is too bad Benson is already being preempted on its new night, but 5-10PM will likely be the time for all the 10th marathons since Johnny Carson airs at 10PM weeknights. So I am projecting Three's Company on February 10, The Facts of Life on March 10, Who's the Boss? on April 10, Hazel on May 10, Family Ties on June 10, I Dream of Jeannie on July 10, Alice on August 10, The Jeffersons on September 10, and That Girl on October 10. November and December could be the shows just missing the top 10 at #11 and #12.

I assume 90s as well since it would be odd for Antenna TV as it is now to just have 50s, 60s, 70s, and then 90s. They wanted to something like this a few years back but never did it. I sure hope I have an affiliate when it comes.

Now is a good time with all the Katz channels eventually moving over to the Ion channels. Some prime slots will be available when that happens.

A few years back there was a piece on Antenna TV spinning off another network that would focus on the 80's and beyond. If they did something like that wouldn't main network get the newer programming. The demos for that that programming would be preferable so why put that on a new subchannel. I wouldn't be surprised to see the suits switch Antenna TV to 80's and beyond and forget about developing another subchannel.

Probably a play to land some of the slots that will open up once the Scripps-owned Katz networks migrate to the Scripps-owned Ion stations.

Plus the 80s had a distinct feel/vibe that a new subchannel could have fun emulating in branding.

Also, Antenna TV has announced on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 5-10pm, AnTENna TV's Birthday Party continues with a ten episode marathon of fan favorite That Girl. Last month on Jan. 10, there was a 10 episode Bewitched marathon, as that series was voted #1 in a fan poll of top Antenna shows. And of course when Antenna TV turned 10 on Jan. 1 they aired an hour each of their top 10 most popular shows (in order from #1 to #10: Bewitched, Three's Company, The Facts of Life, Who's the Boss?, Hazel, Family Ties, I Dream of Jeannie, Alice, The Jeffersons and That Girl). Stay tuned on what will air on March 10 for month three of ten! Visit www.antennatv.tv for the channel finder.

When does Caroline In The City come to Antenna TV? Are there any other Shows being added this year to Antenna TV?

It is strange that the 80s shows are being spun off into their own station, but the 90s shows will remain with the 50s-70s. This is what I would schedule for the 80s on weekdays if everything was available.

New: Perfect Strangers
Returning after several years absence: Newhart, Too Close for Comfort, Mr. Belvedere

5-6AM Newhart encore
6AM Perfect Strangers encore
6:30AM Silver Spoons
7-8AM Webster
8AM What's Happening!
8:30AM What's Happening Now!
9-10AM The Hogan Family
10-11AM Gimme a Break!
11AM-12PM 227
12-1PM Benson
1PM My Two Dads- not enough episodes here to give a full hour
1:30PM Silver Spoons
2-3PM Diff'rent Strokes
3-4PM Head of the Class
4-5PM Mr. Belvedere
5-6PM The Facts of Life
6-7PM Family Ties
7-8PM Growing Pains
8-9PM Who's the Boss?
9-10PM Perfect Strangers
10-11PM Newhart
11PM Too Close for Comfort
11:30PM Johnny Carson- Since they wouldn't want Johnny competing with himself, the 80s Carson would move to 11:30 and air right after the 90 minute Carsons on the other station at 10:00. And by having their ace split channels it would give more incentive for locals to carry both stations.
12:30AM Too Close for Comfort
1-2AM Archie Bunker's Place
2-3AM It's a Living
3-4AM Who's the Boss? encore
4-5AM Johnny Carson encore

My guess is it will be the 90s sitcoms as well leaving only the 50s-70s sitcoms on the regular Antenna TV.
